What Have You Bought Lately? (CHA - Club Ho's Anonymous)

CBX2 wedge (54*) - had been curious about these when they first came out; last summer was in a Dick's for other non-golf stuff (Truth! I swear! ) and took a few swipes with a demo of the first version. Wasn't immediately blown away so held off. Well, even though my short game has been improving this season, I'm still left wondering if I .. average recreational hacker .. might be better off using one of these....

So as part of tweaking my wedge setup I went with the loft I end up using pretty frequently when inside 75 yds. Have only gamed it once so far, and only for 9 holes, but preliminary results are encouraging -- even tho .. no: feel is not the same as a traditional forged wedge, but .. yes: the wider, V sole helps smooth out the ground interaction and make good contact.

I've been enjoying my CBX2 wedge so far. And also the Full Face CBX wedge is nice as well.

Had a hybrid fitting a few weeks ago and picked up a Titleist TS2 yesterday.  Needed something to fill a gap between my 5 iron and 5 wood.  I am playing tomorrow and should have a number of times to try it out.

Ok I think I'm done for a while as I've been on a roll lately!  I wanted some shovels with graphite legs to compliment my Cally Rogue X semi shovels. Soooooooooooo without further delay........     These bad boys have butts bigger than fat albert!   The goose is loose and I'm gaming a caboose !     

I opened a thread on these irons and will be adding my opinion as I put them to task.

I played with these for the first time. From a comfort perspective, I didn't even think about shoe comfort during my round, which means they were very comfortable. I also am enjoying the traction of spikes, especially when I am swinging out of my shoes off the tee.

Got my Cobra Speedzone 3 wood in and so far I hate it. In my fitting I was hitting it perfectly with a really nice flight, tight dispersion, and good distance. Got one built to exact specs and I'm all over the place with it. I've never had that happen before, a good fitting always translates to the course for me. The rest of my bag was good as always but that club was erratic and now I've lost all confidence with it in just one session.

I broke down and ordered the Link, along with eight in-grip sensors for the D7s that are on the way.  I probably won't get the Link in time for the testing, but I can always hope, right?

Ordered 5 dozen Snell MTB-X balls. Have been playing Z-Stars, which I like, but also had occasionally played MTB-X as well. I feel like the MTB-X flies farther off the tee for me, but I don't have my own stats to back it up, but will be able to track now with Shotscope. I know the MTB-X is the longest ball in the high swing speed category on the MGS ball test.

I love the MTB-X! I've been playing it since it released, before that I had a bunch of regular MTB. It was slightly longer than ProV1 for me but I liked the spin and price point better.

Currently have a Ping g400 3 hybrid in the bag, but it just isn't launching high enough for me.  I always hit my 5 wood well and have been looking at them online. Boy am i tempted... in the meantime, maybe back to my ole trusty, the OG Cleveland Launcher Steel that my Pops had in his bag in the 2000s

By the way, I noticed after I placed the order that anything ordered with the Link would be shipped with the Link.  With a quick email to Customer Support, I got them to split the order and ship the sensors right away.  They even turned me down on my offer to pay for the shipping.  Great customer service from Arccos.

Putter weights from Callaway are supposed to arrive today.   UPS sends me the "follow my delivery" link and I see that the truck is on the block behind me,  then I watch as the UPS truck drives past my house, and then is shown on the next block.  WTF!!!!   The UPS driver is taunting me

Another MTB-X fan here. I have been trying out the Z-Star XV this year as well, and they are similar, but I still think the MTB-X beats it for me. By far the longest ball off the tee, great greenside spin and feels (to me) slightly softer off the face of my Spider X than the XV.

The XV is a good ball, but I think I'm going to go back to MTB-X permanently for the rest of the season.

Out of the tour level balls I have tried (Z-Star, Pro V1X, Pro V1, TP5, MTB-X), MTB-X is the only one that I notice a difference in terms of yards off the tee.

For greenside, I don't notice much if any difference between the above tour level balls.

I've been going back and forth between the Z-Star XV and the MTB-X this season and I can't tell the difference.

They're really, really close. I like both of them a lot, just personally like the MTB-X more but that may be because I've played it for almost two seasons now.

Have not, it's on the list when I get curious again. I do Check-Go-Pro all of my Snells so they are "CG Balanced."

Ordered an Arccos SuperStroke sensor just in case I want to dabble with the short putter. My wife got me two pairs of Adidas golf shorts at Marshall’s for less than $20 a pair. And lastly I may or may not have a new driver head in the way although I didn’t technically spend anything for the driver head, it is kind of a very long term demo from a buddy of mine.

If you don't technically spend anything, then you technically didn't buy anything and don't have to talk to the wife about it.

At least that's what I tell myself when I'm filling up the online cart to use my REI dividend...

Ha. That happens to me with the Grubhub driver tracker all the time.  Ill say, whats he doing over there?   Better not be giving my Chipotle to someone else

Well apparently that club is only for the course and not the range. Took it to the course and it was unreal how good it was. Drove two short par 4's with it on back to back holes for two of my three birdies on the round yesterday. Crazy how golf works.

Nothing wild today. But I have worn the hell out of my new cleats and I love my new UA HOVR GTX shoes so I do not want to get these ones stuck in the shoe like my last pair. Might be a little premature but they're awesome shoes so.
