Got fit for a set of Mizuno JPX 921 Hot Metals 5-PW with the ESX F3. Moving out of a set of TM Rsi 1. Apparently Mizuno only has a 3-4 week wait time compared to months for some of the other OEMs, but I still hate waiting.

That's correct on the delivery time.  The rep was here yesterday and that's what he quoted, and my Hot Metals took one day shy of 3 weeks!

I just got the Tommy Armour

Tommy Armour Impact Series No. 3 Alignment Putter - Stainless Steel Shaft

I realize I needed to get a newer putter, but did not want to spend a lot money on it, so I got this one for 40 bucks used, mainly due to the recommendations from MGS.

I am awaiting delivery.

... Not bought but received all new Lamkin ST+2 grips. I have been using Lamkin UTx grips for several years now. Playing without a glove I need max tackiness from my grips and UTx fits the bill if you wipe them before every or every other shot. I needed to reshaft my T100-S with Steelfiber 95 r-flex shafts and after having them in my P760's I needed to cut them down about 1/2" for each iron. The UTx were used for only 2 rounds and when I tried to remove them, they stuck to the grip tape and unfortuneatly had to be cut off. I have never had a problem removing UTx grips so losing 9 new grips was a huge bummer and I contacted Lamkin to find out if they were using a different compound or construction and let them know my dissatisfaction with my latest UTx purchase and IF they are different I was ready to try Golf Prides CP2 Pro grips, but would prefer to stay with Lamkin.

... While Lamkin said grips are not meant to be removed, they admitted new grips sticking to the grip tape was unusual and requested pictures and asked several questions they wanted answers to and said for my trouble they would send me double my problem grips. I had been interested in the ST+2 Hybrid grip as it was described as tackier than the UTx. So I bought a ST+2 grip and installed it Sunday. Then removed it Monday and it came off easily and reinstalled securely like it was the first time it was installed. I really liked the ST+2 and found it quite different than "sticky" grips I have used in the past. It does not feel sticky or even very tacky but the grip was very secure and it never moved in my hands. I let Lamkin know I would like ST+2's as replacements for my UTx and the sent my not 9, but 18 ST+2 grips via 2 day Fed Ex which is the kind of Customer Service that makes me stay with them. I really think double my problem grips is way above and beyond but this is how you keep customers for life.

... I played 18 yesterday with ST+2 grips on my irons and was thrilled with their performance. ST stands for "Smooth Tack" with excellent traction and does not move in my hands without feeling sticky which I think is the best of both worlds! I do not change style of grips often and played 3GEN for many years before moving to UTx when the 3GEN's were discontinued and I will post a mini review after playing these several more rounds.

I just pulled the trigger on a Set of Hogan Edge Forged Irons - used from quite a bit back in time. I can't wait to get them and try them out. They are the same lofts as my Ping G2 irons so we will see what happens.

Golf is simple - people are complicated.

I have a wire remover that is coated in grip solvent, worked between the grip and tape then keep adding solvent so the wire slides/works it's way down the grip until it reaches the end cap and the grip slider off.

I was already a decent putter but I'm deadly with that thing. Love my DF2.1 and can't imagine ever changing. Feels like cheating!

Well, I finally sold the JPX 919 Tours and have a JPX 921 Forged and Tour combo set on the way along with a CLK 4 hybrid. I'll have the hybrid in a couple days but probably three weeks until the irons come in. In the meantime I made my own combo set out of my old irons so I'm rocking MP-32 and MP-59 irons for the next few rounds.

Well, I finally sold the JPX 919 Tours and have a JPX 921 Forged and Tour combo set on the way along with a CLK 4 hybrid. In the meantime I made my own combo set out of my old irons so I'm rocking MP-32 and MP-59 irons for the next few rounds.

Mmm... MP-32s!!. Loved the set I had.  Kicked myself every day after I sold it...lucky enough to receive a set of MP-20s and these are just as buttery as the 32s...always a smile on my face when I hit them 😁

Finally able to pick up my new Ping G410 driver yesterday.  Will try to play at least 9 holes this week.  Previous driver would spin too much and fall out of the sky.  Expecting some decent distance gains with the 410.

Woods - Callaway Rogue 5 wood

Hybrid - Titleist TS2 21 degree

Irons - Taylormade P790 5-PW

Wedges - Taylormade MG3 50, 54, 58, SM9 60

Curious if you have every played anything from golf pride and how the utx and the new grips relate to anything in the golf pride line. I’ve always played golf pride tour wrap and cp2 wrap.

... I have never used a glove and played Tour Velvet for around 20 years. I tried some MCC's but the cord end was a little slick in may gloveless hand. I have not played the CP2 series. When I found Lamkin 3GEN's they were everything I wanted in my grip. Tacky of you wipe them down several times during your round, but they discontinued them and I put on new grips once or twice a season. UTx were next and not as good for me as 3GEN's but close and very tacky when wiped down, but you need to wipe them every single shot and that gets old. These ST+2's seem to be very good but I only have 2 rounds in with them in modern heat. I'll have to see what they are like when it is really hot and/or humid.
