What Have You Bought Lately? (CHA - Club Ho's Anonymous)

I didn't post about it when I pulled the trigger, but a Tour Striker Smart Ball arrived at the house last night.

Not sure how I feel about it so far. I think the Planemate is nicer for a full swing training aid. This might get some use for chipping and putting, though. I don't care for the idea of pushing the elbows together to hold the ball, it creates tension that I'm otherwise always trying to get rid of in my upper body.

Oh well. It wasn't overly expensive and I'm sure I'll find some use for it somewhere, sometime.

It is! Last year during the CCC4 @B.Boston didn't have the accent I was expecting...before it was always in my head as being like the Smart Park commercial.

Needless to say I've got a taste for a slightly vintage make. Ultimately I've been looking for a slightly larger 3 wood but more of a driver alternative. When I play with my dad, we're usually playing 2 tees forward so I'm finding that a lot of courses put the trouble right about where my drive lands. If I can get a full swing but cut about 20 yds off, that would be optimal. 13.5* should hopefully do the trick. Additionally when I'm playing with my buddies and am playing a tight course or my driver just isn't behaving, this would still give me enough yardage to not put me in the dog house on my 2nd shot. The profile is just what the doctor ordered! 

I've been looking for this specific club in this condition for quite some time and this thing's minty! The shaft has been lying around just waiting to be paired with the right club. I'm REALLY hoping that this will be the magic combo. 

          

I picked up one of those in a 7wood mid season last year for $100 new in the wrapper. I like it alot. You should be happy with your 3/4.

Hopefully it's just something wrong with the one I've got. Can't complain about anything else with it. Feels good in the hand and when you get enough water on it seems to clean nicely. It just simply makes my hand sore to have to use so much force. I have been in automotive assembly for nine years and the repetitive motion kills hands.

Just submitted my staff order yesterday for 6 dozen of the New 2021 ProV1 in Yellow. Just need to get ahold of some new wedges and the 2021 bag is completely set in stone

Did you do the Quintic fitting at Tour Spec back when you went, or just SAM? I don’t remember what you did for putter that day.

Putter fitting wasn’t part of it. Never had a quintic or sam fitting but had a really good old school fitting that helped give me a great idea about what works best for me.

But speak with a southern drawl and use slang and sound amazingly ignorant. Growing up in the south I know that isn't always true but it sure is how many that never spent time in the south perceive it. 

... The thing that always makes me think about accents like a southern drawl is I am learning Spanish and the people speaking on my program all have the same accents. I can not imagine what it is like for someone learning English from a program then encountering someone with having a heavy drawl, a Boston or even Chicago south side accent and them thinking "??? What language are they speaking???"

Stopped at Golf Galaxy yesterday. Tommy Armour VCG wedges marked down from $129 to $59. Left handed, 52, 56, and 60. Didn’t buy them, but I figured if I posted this here, someone would talk me into it or make me feel better about not buying.

My old Cleveland CG’s are pretty worn out, though.

Hit up the superstore and had a 20 of 75. Got a 2 pack of footjoy weathersoft gloves. New spikes for the shoes and a shirt

Made a few purchases recently:

SM8s in a 54 S Grind with 10 degrees of bounce, and a 60 M Grind, 8 degrees of bounce.  Except the 54 is bent weak to 55, so 11 degrees of bounce, and the 60 is bent strong to 59, so 7 degrees of bounce.  First time with a black finish; I lay the face open a lot greenside and the morning glare from my last set of wedges drove me crazy.
Also, picked up some more speed training tools:

Should have had the PRGR all along, but finally took the plunge on it since I'm going to try to squeak more speed out of hands and arms with the C Club.  With the new ones out the PRGR is going for $99 on Amazon.

Those vokey’s are so legit! Been eyeing those myself!

Got to hit my brother’s new to him 0811 XF gen 2 vs my Speedzone today on a sim.  My best drives of the day came with the speedzone, but the Ventus is a much better fit for me than the HZRDUS smoke in the PXG.  The earth didn’t move when I hit the PXG, but I’ll give them props on sound and feel.  My brother is going to love that thing.  Now I just need to get him to use the head over and NOT swing it over concrete.  He was very happy to have it delivered today and not lost in the mail. Haha

I will def swing it at the range and prob a ball or two on the course.  Seems like it’s going to be very playable for him.

Also got to hit the Radspeed Xb with a Motore X.... what a smooth feeling shaft... might have to keep an eye out on one of those.

PING G425 LST felt great and sounded pretty solid, but I wasn’t connecting with it well.  Might revisit that too.

TSi3 was not the right loft for me, but it sounds awesome.

I’ll hit a few more over the winter I’m sure, but so far I can’t see taking the Speedzone out of the bag.  But that Motore X... that could be in contention!
