Popular Post GolfSpy BOS
OGIO Woodē arrived today! the top is so much more to my liking than usual 4/5 way or 14 way tops. I wish the pockets had a few different features, but not a lot of bags have those. Popular Post chisag
... These Aguila greens have been driving me crazy. First off the Bermuda grain is tough to read. Then the course designer is a masochist that has a TON of visual misdirections. A perfect example is #9 that is sitting beside a lake and as always the ball breaks to the water with the high point on the other side of the green ... or is it? The 2 drains in dips beside the high side are certainly a tell tale clue because the ball breaks away from the water. Standing in the fairway a good 30 yds away you can see the subtle tilt away from the water but standing on the green it looks and feels like the ball will break to the water. He is one twisted dude. Many of the greens are similar with visual clues that are completely misleading. I have over 100 rounds on this course and I am still learning some of the breaks. When they are cut/rolled and fast they are easier to read but when mid speed or worse running slow the grain with the sun in the late afternoon make them more difficult to calculate. I have never missed so many birdie putts as I have on this course. ... So my normal feel putting has been letting me down and I have had to add an element of technical putting where I have to ignore my eyes and decided a new mallet putter would help. I was expecting to spend $300-400 on a putter demoing everything from PXG to Taylor Made and everything in between. One putter stood out from the pack because it flowed straight back on line while others tended to waiver. I was shocked to find the Cleveland Huntington Beach Soft 11s Premier putter was only $149 but I was not a fan of the black shaft or dull grey finish. The regular 11s has a typical stainless finish that was much more appealing to my eye and it was only $129!?!? Such a great feeling and performing putter. Not even just for the $. The day I picked up the #4, I had my sights set on a $350 Toulon blade. Rolled them all and the feel and performance were no different. At that point, saving $200 was the difference in the decision. Money was not a consideration when I went shopping. I took 2 days to make sure the putter (or me) still rolled the ball the same the next day. I forgot to add the Cleveland was also the best feeling putter I tested. I kinda had my heart set on the Taylor Made Ardmore that looks very similar with a tech face, but it was very hard feeling and I just didn't like it at all. I usually add weight to the sole (more on the toe) to get the balance perfect so my putter head swings back and through on line with no manipulation, but the 11S did it stock with no weight added. And like you the Cleveland performed best regardless of price so that was just a very nice bonus. Rickp, cksurfdude, GolfSpy_SHARK and 2 others 5 Quote Driver: Qi10 10.5* ... ejgaudette
7 hours ago, chisag said: ... I had to order it because none were in stock but it arrived last week and it has been exactly what I was looking for. It certainly pays to have an open mind in more ways than one. Picked this one too and have really enjoyed the feel. I came at it from the variable groves but not wanting to spend to much but it has felt really stable and balanced for me. Hope it works for you too. fozcycle, cksurfdude, GolfSpy BOS and 5 others 8 Quote Epic Max LS 9° Ventus Blue 6X (2021 Official Review) | Epic Speed 18° Evenflow Riptide 70g 6.0 816 H1 21° Diamana S+ Blue 70 S | SMS 4-5/SMS Pro 6-PW Steelfiber i95 S (2023 Official Review) Glide 4.0 50°.12°S/54°.14°W/58°.6°T PING Z-Z115 Wedge Flex | SOFT 11S Super Stroke Mid-Slim 2.0 Hoofer Bag | Pro V1 | Right Handed | Tracked by V3
tehuti
I just got a velcro bag tag for hanging your glove on. It was actually worth it because my BagBoy bag only has a really small strip that I use for my putter cover. Now I can stick my glove and putter cover on my bag when I am ready to putt.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk MattF, Rickp, GolfSpy_SHARK and 3 others 6 Quote PXG 0211 12° driver w/Project X Cypher R flex shaft KE4 TC 16° 4 wood w/Kuro Kage Black 60g shaft KE4 TC HyWay 21° utilitywood w/Maltby MPF shaft KE4 TC 22° 4 hybrid w/UST Proforce V2 Black shaft KE4 TC 25° 5 hybrid w/Mitsubishi Tensei CK Blue shaft Lazrus 27° 6 hybrid w/Lazrus graphite shaft PXG 0211DC irons 7-PW w/Project X Cypher graphite shafts CBX2 50° wedge M-Series+ 56° wedge w/UST Recoil 660 graphite shaft Infinite Bean putter
tehuti
So weird. I have some bonus money burning a hole in my pocket. But when I started thinking about what new shiny toys I want I can't think of anything. My bag is practically new top to bottom. And the items that are not new I don't want to replace yet. Besides, I am usually the guy who procrastinates on a purchase and then I pull the trigger about a week before the next model is announced. So I don't want to do that again. Grand Stranded
I was able to find the two TS2 hybrids I tried to buy last week. I also took a flyer on a TS2 16.5* 4 wood. To be honest, I never knew anyone made LEFTHAND 4 woods since the Ping G25 line. Apparently Titleist does. Its weird, I went for years without one of their clubs in my bag, and now I’ll have 6! By the same token, this time last year I had 13 Callaway clubs and a Ping driver. This year I won’t have any, assuming the 4 wood beats out my beloved Rogue 15* (which is a long shot). If the Cobra RAD XB beats my G400Max (I’m confident it will) I won’t even recognize my own bag at the bag drop.
