Just be aware of a problem with Ecco shoes. They don't wear out. Partially my fault as I use the Ecco conditioner once a month. I bought 2 extra pairs off white Ecco Biom Hybrids to go with my black/brown/gray and original white Bioms. I bought the white ones as my first pair of Ecco's 3 winters ago and playing 5 times a week or so I figured they would wear out sooner rather than later as I use the white ones the majority of my rounds. A little cracking on the toe leather but still just as comfortable as the first day I put them on. I got caught in the rain this summer and they remain waterproof. They are looking a little ratty as the color has faded and they look lived in but again still perform as well as the very first day. Never thought I would want my shoes to wear out so I could use my new ones but that is where I seem to be. ... So enjoy your uber comfortable Ecco shoes for the next gazillion years. vandyland
Just ordered two Ben Hogan Equalizer II wedges (50* and 54*) in black with KBS tour shafts. I didn't pull the trigger on a 58* because the equalizer II demo I had (56*) didn't feel like it was super comfortable in an open position. So I still need to find a replacement for my low bounce 57* cleveland reg 588. I think I want a mid bounce replacement as the low bounce option is great when I am playing really well but not as good when I am struggling a bit. I will be auditioning a host of 58* wedges over the winter. With this purchase these are the first new wedges I have bought in 4 years. That said, I don't wanna be responsible for another bad relationship so YMMV. What is funny I have always been a 588 fan ever since they came out. Now recently I had to add a 52* gap wedge for the current set up. I had a Mack Daddy 2 Cally I rescued off the junk pile a while back Raw and rusty. I had messed with it some and came to like it as I can hit some amazing shots with it. I also have the 56 that goes with it. Tried it Saturday in all of its Rusty Glory and liked it better than the modified PM 56*. So it has been raining and cold the last 2 days and so both of them have been in the Vinegar and Coke Soak. Man they turned out good grooves sharp and all. No wear whatsoever can not figure why someone literally threw them out. Someone at the course the other day chided me as in thought you were a Cleveland man? Yep but By God these were after all designed by Roger Cleveland and it says so right on the back. And yes I am playing pain free still with the TMs with the Steel Fiber Shafts-- Have gotten to hitting those pretty good but still have to learn them on distance control shaping etc. Kinda having control issues for me Saturday as in I can not cut them as much and when I really nut them they go. I was kinda grumbling but one of my buds stressed that I had hit blade Macs for 45 years so I can not get used to those TMs in a month and a half. But eventually I will figgure that out But basically my golf stuff is set for me unless I find like some antique at the thrifts or something--- But thanks again old buddy for your encouragement and imput on those shafts. How do you like to Steelfiber 95i on your wedges? I switched to them in my irons hoping to relieve tendinitis in my elbow. They have helped greatly and the weight was same as NS Pro950 which I was playing before which helped with the transition to the Steelfiber 95i. I have been contemplating switching to them in my wedges also, but have been hesitant since they will be lighter than my current wedge shaft (DG 115) and I like the heft in my wedges. Were you playing heavier wedge shaft before? How did you find the switch? I switched to them in my irons hoping to relieve tendinitis in my elbow. They have helped greatly and the weight was same as NS Pro950 which I was playing before which helped with the transition to the Steelfiber 95i. I have been contemplating switching to them in my wedges also, but have been hesitant since they will be lighter than my current wedge shaft (DG 115) and I like the heft in my wedges. Were you playing heavier wedge shaft before? How did you find the switch? ... I am very happy with i95's in my wedges. I went from heavy steel to Recoil 110's in my wedges when I played Recoils Prototype 95's but when I went to i95 Steelfiber shafts I installed one in my LW and was surprised to find little if any difference. I did add a little lead tape to the head to keep up the SW but on the course there was no difference. Now, hitting them side by side I could feel the weight difference in the 110's if I concentrated on just the weight, but when concentrating on the shot there really was no difference, at least for me. This won't help you but I love these 2 MG3 wedges I am playing now. Since the 50* replaced another 50* the distance was very similar with the TM being a couple yards longer. Bump and runs are the same but it just looks so much better to my eye at address and I was instantly confident with it. For whatever reason the 58* is the most consistent LW I have played for full and partial shots. I have not been this happy with my wedges since the original Cleveland 588 Tour Action wedges. That said, I don't wanna be responsible for another bad relationship so YMMV. So I went to the local Dicks sports today to finish up shopping...their golf store is phenomenal. The shape of the MG3 was surprising and is much different than prior models...I like how the line from the toe to the heel is a much straighter profile. Rather than rounded out it resembles more of a PW from a set and truthfully, it's very appealing. I didn't buy one today but based on looks alone, it certainly has my eye. sirchunksalot, chisag, GolfSpy_SHARK and 4 others 7 Quote Titleist TSi3 Fujikura Speeder NX Blue 60X TaylorMade SIM2 3 wood Fujilkura Ventus Blue 7-X Titleist U505 2 Tensei 1K Black 85 X Titleist T100 4-P Nippon Modus 3 120X PING S159 50-S 55-H 59-T DG X100 Vokey SM8 50, SM9 54 & 60 Nippon Modus 3 120s L.A.B. fixyurdivot
2 dozen Maxfli Tour balls based on; my own MGS Official Testing of these balls in 2019, their high rating in the most recent MGS Ball Lab Tests, and my buddy Chris (@Thin2win)'s home PLM studio test results comparing/testing the ball lab results... well that and a 40% off deal . I do notice that they have changed the packaging since my testing of the Tour and Tour X; which seemed to emphasize the CG Balanced feature of the ball more so than current product.
