I know @Kenny Bjust put one of these in play and likes it. It sure looks good.

I have now both 3Hybrid and 4Hybrid C721... they are fantastic.. great fairway finders and long.
worth the investment.

I played The Thistle, just over the border in NC today. I played very well (for me) shooting 84 on a tough 6100+ yard course.

@Rickp after our talk last night, I put the new 5 hybrid in the bag along with the #4. I have to say, I loved it. First swing ever with it, I was hole high on a 165 yd par 3. It went high, and dead straight, but because I was worried about a hook with the Senior flex shaft, I armed left of the flag. That’s where it went, and I had a 20 foot birdie putt. I then hit greens from 158 and 150 (into the wind), so it was 3-3 on it’s maiden voyage.

The 4 was almost as good, but I put a bad swing on it one time and topped it into water. I also chunked one slightly, but it came up just short of the green from 172, so I’m guessing I got 165 with poor contact?
Very encouraging, and the 5 iron is staying home again Saturday!

If you guys keep talking up the 5h I may succumb to peer pressure and try to replace my 5i.

@Rickp & @Tom the Golf NutWhat are the lofts on your 5h's?  I have a 23* ( like @Grand Stranded mentioned) but I use that as a 4h, my 190 club that goes about 10 yards longer than my 5i so it is a good gap for me.  I am not sure I'd like looking at a 26* with all that loft sitting down there?!?!

I’m exactly like you with the loft. A 25* would look like a SW to me.

As far as the 23* loft on mine, my last two sets of irons ( Rogue X and now PXG XP) are both very strongly lofted.

The set 5 irons are 21* I think, and the 6 irons are 24*? The lofts n my Rogue X 3&4 hybrids blended with the irons and they were 18* & 20*, so I just went with those specs for my new irons.

You can find a 5 hyb anywhere from 23* to 26* but if you aren’t able to test them, I’d recommend finding one a degree or two weaker in loft than your 5 iron.

Good job!  Guys of a “certain age” need the help of clubs like the hybrids.  They have definitely helped me.  My 3, 4 & 5 irons are now qualified for tomato stakes in the garden.

Hey!!  I'm a guy of a "certain age" and I still hit my 4i and 5i.  Of course, since I went back to playing my MacGregor irons, the 5i is 28º and the 4i is 25º.  I also play a 24º hybrid if I want a higher shot, and it's a little longer.

... Me too! As a young certain age golfer I would be lost without my 5 iron (26*) and absolutely depressed without my 4 iron (23*) . But I also carry a 22* 4hy for a higher shot, out of light rough and of course with a longer shaft it is about 10/15yds longer than my 4 iron.

I can still hit my Mac Blade 4 and 5 irons but these days is rough on my back. Recently added the 9 V-Steel back in and also Catch your breath a Old Laminate Power Bilt 7 wood at 26* hooked faced but when I put it at my address position it can be 27 28. Good for those high 110 120 shots for me. Pulled the Mac 4 & 6 irons out. Just carrying the 5 iron then 7 thru PW now plus one 588 at 56*. Do not need the 6 iron I never hit it anyhow even pre accident. I need to change my signature to reflect the changes I feel are set for me now after about a year of experimenting. I will always carry some kind of blade 5 iron because it is my get out of jail club and I do bump and runs with it too. This set up as strange as it is with now 5 headcovers in the bag and not one on the putter is sorta is allowing me to play pretty decent and mainly pain free. I do not have to hit at it hard to elevate and thus I am pain free. The fewer clubs I carry the less decisions I have to make. One of the guys made a remark on the range the other day about "only 2 wedges?" My bud was up on the range and he is an instructor and has known me for 40 years and also played some minis with me told the guy. Distance aside that I could hit any shot with those 2 wedges that that guy could hit with ALL 4 of his.

After reading through many reviews, I’ve decided to purchase Arccos sensors and the Link.    All sensors paired without any issues.    Now only if all the snow would melt, I could try these on the course.

I couldn't play the S300 shafts in the Macs years ago, so I pulled them and put in 84g Nippon regular flex shafts.  SW is D0.  Now the trajectory is what I want and they feel awesome!

I recently acquired one of these.. I am really torn between playing it or selling it.  I know that there is no appreciable difference between this and 5 other putters that I already own..  I have a problem..

The first step is admitting that you are powerless over golf equipment.

Not a club, but I went to DSG last night to pick up some baseball gear for my son.  Happened to get lost on the way, and noticed they had the new AVX in stock, (shocking really)… so I picked up a dozen, tried to hit the new Stealth, but yet again they were too busy stocking shelves to come let me in the hitting bay.

I just picked up a couple dozen current version TP5 balls.  A bit of an impulse buy and I really don't know how well they'll perform.  I've played a few I've found and they seem fine... but then just about everything I play falls into that category 😆

For as picky and methodical as you are about picking clubs, I find your lack of ball awareness to be disturbing.

The difference between a tp5, and a Velocity in terms of spin /launch /feel is almost the same as switching from blades to cavity back irons. All your meticulous demos, fittings and data analysis is immediately out the window.

You are killing me Smalls! 😂

They are all good balls, they all do work, the same can be said for basically every club made these days.

But they all do fall into categories, and those categories do make real on course differences.

Gonna try my hand at an Accra Tour Z RPG Tour(Gold) 65 M5+ shaft. Hit one at the end of my simulator round yesterday in a Mavrik head(simulator owners club) and was surprised at how smooth it was for being heavier and a lot stiffer than the Ventus Velocore Red 5R in my hopefully soon to be ex Stealth + lol. Gonna pair it with a Rogue ST Triple Diamond head.
