Ok don't laugh.. seriously..

I still love the Edel round putter grip and think that it works great for my biomechanics. This is however the biggest grip that they offer and I can't find any slightly bigger true round grips out there. I had an idea that I'm gonna try for a round or 2.. maybe more. This is a tennis racket grip wrap. It cost me $3 on Amazon. It has a pretty strong adhesive on the back side and a really great padded feel and texture. When wrapped, it creates some great spacing indentation for fingers... Just like a tennis racket.

It doesn't look completely hideous but the feeling is really nice IMO.

It wasn't a ful laugh but just a chuckle!  😁

It reminds me of a guy i used to know that put foam pipe insulation on his putter... it worked well for him!

Ok I'm done buying crap after today!

Maltby Max Milled 60°. As you can see it's quite a departure from the high-bounce wedges I've been using. What I'm being told is that the extra wide v-sole adds quite a bit of effective bounce so 6° isn't necessarily the whole story. I'm also used to having a pretty good amount of heel grind to open up the face. Just tooling around in the back yard on what I'd consider green side rough length, I'm still able to fan the face wide open and run the ball from the  inside heel diagonally up the face and off the toe taking full advantage of every groove on the face. With my PM grind, this is my "stop on a dime no matter how hard the greens are" shot. I'm hopeful that this one will work just the same.

And yes those are functional weights.. similar to what Edel is doing. If I decide to switch to graphite, or want a different feel I can switch the weights out.

Compared to my PM and Maltby TSW

0504221639.jpg.24f13c84736eb7c1753e4cac7420d65d.jpg

And I also picked up this. I prefer GPS over a scope just because I'll never be good enough to where the 5 yds in accuracy lost will ever make that much of a difference in my game. I do like that I can pin point the pin's location for a little more dialed in accuracy. That's all anybody needs.

Laughing with you - did the same thing to mine!! I just like larger putter grips, find them easier to grip lightly but snugly.

Got myself the New Arccos Putter P3 sensor.

Bought 2 sensors for both of my current putters, so I could track statistics between my gamers and the back-up.

Lets hope it works better than the previous generation putter sensor.

With apologies for picking on this small part of your post...

With a GPS, the question isn't ±3 yds, or even ±5 yards.  It's that GPS can be more significantly off than that.  I've experienced 20+ yard variations in the past, often enough that I don't like using GPS at all, unless I have no other choice.

Just picked up myself a new Scotty Cameron Phantom X5.5. Unfortunately it's rained the whole week here in beautiful Indiana and I haven't been able to test outside, only inside. Very excited for this, I had a Newport 2 previously.

I've been slowly donating my golf balls to the OB and water hazard gods. I picked up a box of Maxfli Tour Matte White balls yesterday as a preemptive refill to my go-to Softfli matte white and matte red balls. I can't imagine I'll notice much of a difference at this point in my game, but the glowing reviews and price point made it a no-brainer to at least try a box.

I'm not going to say that you're wrong but perhaps maybe it's the GPS? I golf with plenty of guys on a regular basis who use scopes.. and not cheap ones. My Garmin watch that I use allows me to pin point the approximate spot on the green where the flag is located and I've never been outside of 10' and rarely am outside of 5' and I'd say 75% of the time I'm within 3'. This is why I chose the Phantom 2 because it has the same green location function so not simply F, M, B.

Now I will say that when I decide on a distance and what club to pull,.. 99.10% of the time I'm short or long, or my ball goes 20 yds left or right of where the pin was measured.. it's me 😄

Nice! With the new M1 processors those things are pretty sweet. My Macbook Air from 2013 finally got too old last December, and I was looking at the MBP to replace it, but ended up going with an iPad Pro. Doesn't do everything I need it to from a work perspective, but I'm usually in the office on my iMac so it makes a great complement to that.

For some strange reason I can't get the song "oops I did it again" out of my head.. not sure why..🤣

Anyhow.. I stumbled upon these beauties. I picked them up for a trade though.. not sure if I traded up or down but regardless I got what I wanted. A simple and pure forged blade. These will be my practice set and what's great is that I could combo them with my ERG's as the lofts are right in line.

The "pies de resistance" however are the shafts. Discontinued FCM Precision rifle Flighted shafts in perfect shape! I had these on my other Mizuno Blades and I've been looking for some more. These are 6.5's which by my understanding is close to S+ flex (not to be confused with PX 6.5) which should be perfect. They're also cut to +.75 which is perfect!! The stars appear to have aligned on this set so I just had to make the trade happen. Vintage + great shape + blades + FCM shafts cut to my length.

0301221140.jpg.e150d629986753ef66643add8127516f.jpg

Now I know this last one might be a bit controversial.. but I picked up this wedge as I've always wanted to try one out and it just fits right in with my new blades. Who knows? Maybe it could be worth some decent money one day😜..

Those Precision Rifles are great shafts. I have a set in some KZG CBs

Now far as the PM wedge I just put mine back in the bag. Mine has a heavy modified sole grind and some weight placement mods but it works for me. As for the PM thing I could care less about him being involved or not with the LIV golf league thing. I am probably the most brand agnostic person on any golf forum. I do not care about the marketing policies , who owns the company or what pro may or may not play them on tour. If I can make it work for me then I will play it. LOL as of now I have 6 different brands and about 4 different vintages in my front line bag

There are a lot of variables in play.

One of them is the inherent GPS operating error, the expected plus/minus from actual.  Another is that GPS is only as good as the person who mapped the course allows it to be.  If someone is a bit less diligent, there could be a problem.

Quality of the unit involved is another.  There's a course near me that had GPS units on every cart.  We found it fairly entertaining that the cart GPS units would give different numbers when parked side by side on the holes.  Sometimes considerably different.

And there's always possible course redesign, post-mapping, to add another wrinkle.

I've seen enough strange readings to not want to rely on it, hence my own purchase.  The added irony, I play a course that happens to provide very accurate GPS readings.  I know the woman who mapped it, she was a college golfer and both conscientious and meticulous.  GPS users at this course are lucky.  🙂

I got a good laugh at the Bob Does Sports vs Good Good YouTube match - on the first hole, Joey Cold Cuts hit a nine-iron on his second shot and came up a good 80 yards short of the green, and the Grant and Garrett were killing themselves laughing because he got the GPS number from the cart, but they had started on the 10th hole and it was giving him the distance to the 1st hole.

Guys in our Saturday Shootout mess up like that all the time because it is a shotgun start--- One of my partners is bad about it. He was giving an unreal reading the other day. I was shooting the yardage with the old dependable Precision Pro I tested on here years ago ( still kicking and still accurate) I never moved from shooting told him out the side of my mouth wrong hole. Not only was it the wrong hole but the wrong side of the course

We ran into the same thing years ago at Indian Wells down here. They had GPS on the carts and we ran into the same thing. Also they were not accurate at all. Now to give credit GPS on the golf course was in it's infancy then as were range finders. I actually had and still have one of the first Bushnells ( and it still works) you know the clunky heavy ones. Now the sprinkler heads had been laser shot and were dead on plus I had played enough tournament golf there I had yardages walked off and in my notebook. One of my partners has a GPS and sometimes he makes me want to throw both him and the GPS in a lake. He does not have one idea how to use it properly. Now our course does not have the sensors on the top of the flags. He can not fathom the fact that there is difference from where the pin is and what his GPS says is like the back of the green. Now I will admit I sorta cheat since I know the course so well that I know about where every pin placement will be in regards to steps right or left etc. Me personally I trust my range finder and my instinct

Stumbled across a Callaway Mavrik Sub Zero Single Diamond 8.5* driver for a decent price so took the leap. The only info I could find was Johnny Wunder replying to a tweet saying it was Uber low spinning and fade bias which sounds delicious lol

Got it today and just as I thought it’s a single Diamond head. The seller listed it as a triple diamond head so I got a great deal on it. This is the Sub Zero version but not the 440. Still can’t find much info on it other than possibly started as a prototype for Steph Curry, super low spin, and fade biased.

Stopped by a Play It Again Sports that’s pretty far out of the way to look for a 3 Wood to play with. Found a leftie (!) with a light graphite regular flex shaft (!!) and a midsize (!!!) grip. Very seldomly do I find leftie equipment at all, let alone lighter clubs with bigger grips. Seemed like destiny so I pulled the trigger at $70. Absolutely loved it on the range both off the tee and mat. Very excited to give it a spin on the course, and the midsize CP2 grip might win me over my brand new jumbo CPx’s.

I've had this 3 wood for years... I have constantly been trying to find something that can beat it but ultimately wind up putting this back in the bag.  Great find!!!
