My new bag arrived and it’s loaded and ready. It’s a Ping Japan Exclusive CB-P226 Hoofer Cart Bag. It fits nicely on my Clicgear 3.5+ pushcart. Just getting used to the layout and where I keep everything. So far I’m very happy with it after playing 9 holes today. Feels well made and I love the Velcro panels as they allow me to display my unit patches. The little two pocket pouch is a great way to hold tees, ball markers a pitch mark repair tools.

... Thanks, I have demo'ed it in all 3 so I know it fits well with any of them. Now I have to see how they perform on the course when it counts.

So what are you looking to the Grahite Design to give you in your driver over your current shaft?  I'm curious because I'm interested in non-stock options for my Driver specifically (currently swinging the Mitz Tensei AV Blue SFW) .  Honestly, not even sure where to start looking... but have heard amazing things about the Tour AD line.

He was fit for it but didn’t want to spend the money for the upcharge iirc.

When you sat non stock are you referring to all the noupcharge shafts in a driver or the default stock options?

Most of the companies are offering several no upcharge shafts that are premium shafts such as the hzrdus rdx shafts and the Aldila rogue white.

Or are you looking at true aftermarket/upcharge shafts?

Theres no guarantee that an aftermarket/upcharge shaft is going to make any significant difference in performance. Look at the ventus made for and aftermarket. Several here and on wrx got better performance from the made for than the aftermarket version

Finally working on upgrading my wedges.  My wedges are pretty old and I’d say wedge play is the weakest aspect of my game.  Had a couple of newer vokey wedges and based on some discussions at the Maryland spy outing I pulled the stock shafts and getting some lower weight Accra wedge shafts installed.   Thought is that the big weight jump from irons to wedges might be causing some issues so moving to some 90gr shafts.

I was fit for my driver and of the options of "no upcharge" shafts, the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Blue was my choice.  So, as I start considering my next wave of driver fittings... probably will co-incide with the release of the TSr line... and to decide if the Stealth is a better option for me... I want to explore upcharge shaft options as well to see if there is any notable performance upside to paying a little more for the shaft... and this is key... in MY swing.

I realize Chisag was fit for the driver shaft and the Tour AD worked for him, though he didn't initially pull the trigger...lucky for him the seller accepted his offer :).  I was simply asking what made that shaft better for him - than the shaft he is currently playing.  Also fully understanding... my results WILL vary.

Titleist and TM both offer the graphite design shafts. They also have pretty close to the same shaft matrix with the price of the ventus shafts being the only difference where titleist charges almost full price.

If you have a shop that Carrie’s fitting carts they should have the available upcharge shafts and you could ask them if they would let you test the shaft in your driver.

If you get fit again tell the fitter you are ok with going with an upcharge shaft if it performs better than the others. This way he/she will know to look at those as options.

Perosnally based on experience of doing demo days and learning from some really good fitters, most golfers won’t see any improvement between a stock/noupcharge shaft and an upcharge one.

Also the shaft you were fit to is one of the best shafts on the market for stock offerings and hard to be even with most aftermarket shafts

LOL trust me I would rock it in a heartbeat. In about a month you would have 6 or 7 guys in the shootout rocking the same thing. I started the whole Tommy Bahama thing on the golf course on this end of the beach. Now days there are 7 or 8 guys rocking them in the shootouts. LOL I have several now trying to pull off the floppy hat sunglasses look but they can not pull it off like me because they do not have the shoulder length hair to do so. There is a company on the internet that specializes in Bud and Bud Light golf stuff including headcovers and beer cooler tubes

... I was not interested in ordering a Callaway driver because performance was virtually identical to my Sim2 and I also prefer the feel of the Sim2. But the AD-IZ in the SR flex produced the best numbers and best feel in 2 different fittings. I would add the Tensei AV Blue was very close in both performance and feel although the S was a hair too stiff and the R a hair too soft when compared to the AD-IZ in the tweener SR flex.

... To answer your original question, if I gain a few yards and a little tighter dispersion I will be a happy man. I don't expect much of a performance change if any but if it feels as good as it did in both fittings with no change in performance that will be OK too. I have just wanted to play one forever and been looking for a decent price for several years and finally decided to go ahead and buy one.

(I don't know if you are interested in a Stealth but Golf Galaxy has a special on them with no uncharge on several premium shafts including the AD-IZ but in S flex only.)

Thanks for the tip.... hmmm S only.  One of the things that peaked my interest was that S/R flex.... I currently swing the Mitsubishi in regular.. I would be really interested to compare that to the Tour AD S/R...  Stiff may be a bit much for me... but I'm intrigued enough to possibly give it a swing!

After getting a chance to play the IZ in my TSi 3 driver test a couple of years ago I added it in my 3w and later my hybrid. I love it and haven't even been tempted by any other shaft lately, at least until I happened to try out my brother's G425 5 wood with the KBS TD fairwary wood shaft last week...but that is another story for another post 😆

The Tensei Raw Blue was giving me the most similar results to the IZ in my TSi fitting and also felt great FWIW, with the IZ just beating it out by a hair in both feel and dispersion. Would have had zero problem with the Tensei going right in the bag if I hadn't been able to test/get the IZ.
