Popular Post Rickp
I’m doing a little experiment. I’ve been looking for older hybrids either a 4h Callaway Steelhead XR or Big Bertha 4h Heavenwood. Found a 4h Heavenwood from 2nd Swing in 9 condition. It has a womens shaft, head and shaft are perfect. Only gave to change grip & maybe add 1” length. I know a lot of guys my age & younger who are using their wives clubs or picked up used women's clubs. I figure it’s well worth the $50 investment. Should be interesting!!! I thought how can the top 3 ladies in the world among many others all play them if they feel so bad? Feel is obviously very subjective. Recently bought a set of used UST Recoil ES 780 F4 stiff. Kind of a shot in the dark really. My pro was supportive and said give it a shot. My DGs were feeling a bit too heavy for me lately and it’s been a nice / surprising change. I have never gamed graphite irons before. I am finding my 3/4 shots feel easier to hit. They are still launching great on full shots. I am also not getting the ballooning trajectories I was fearing. Shot one of my best rounds after switching to the Recoils. I am wondering if I need a heavier (non recoil) PW shaft though, the difference between PW and my conventional steel GW is bigger now. So far so good though. I totally agree it’s not for everyone but this experiment was definitely eye opening for sure. Going now try a new Recoil ES SMACWRAP F4 Stiff in a new Haywood CB 7 iron to see how that feels. I'm looking forward to your reviews...big Stack fan myself, and the mobility sticks are on my radar... The Stack won't be here until October, unfortunately, but that's OK because that's really when golf season is "officially" over for me. I'm hoping Stack will be the final push that gets me capable of hitting 300 total more often next season. On good, dry days I'm usually getting a few out to 285-295, but only a couple have exceeded 300 yards this year. I did get the mobility sticks. I kind of underestimated just how long seven feet is... they're a touch too tall for me to use in the largest part of my basement. My original intent was to bring them to the gym at work, but I'm not sure about the crazy looks I might get transporting them to/from my office a few times a week (and in/out of my compact car). I do really like the five foot stick, there's lots of things you can do with just that one. From a t-spine mobility point it's really helpful to get that extra stretch at the top of the backswing. Overall, you could probably use a wooden dowel or schedule 80 PVC for most of the stuff at a significantly cheaper price. The programming is fine, but it's nothing earth shattering or special and many of the movements are out there for free with Fit for Golf. I'd recommend watching some of their stretching workouts on YouTube and see if you feel like the tension-based stretching is something you'd like (bow-and-arrow stretches, I think they are called). I wouldn't want to do those with wood or regular PVC. I think schedule 40 PVC would bend too much and schedule 80 might snap or deform quite a bit under the pressure. Otherwise, I think most people could get by with a $12 subscription to Mike's flexibility routine and a few dollars worth of PVC from a home improvement store. sirchunksalot, MyWifesSwingCoach, GolfSpy_BNG and 2 others 5 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 7.5 / Anti-Cap: 13.0 (Last Updated Feb. 19, 2024) Driver: Callaway Paradym TD (10.5°, -1/N), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Fitting Post 3 Wood: Cobra RadSpeed Big Tour (14.5°), 43", Fujikura Motore X F1 7X 20° Hybrid: PXG 0211 (2020 Model), 40.25", Mitsubishi Tensei AV RAW White 90X 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", Aerotech SteelFiber i110cw Stiff 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B. Popular Post cnosil
After the Maryland MGS outing, the Titleist wedge fitting, and some discussions with @McGolfabout shaft options I made the move to get some Vokey wedges reshafted with 90gr Accra shafts and move away from the traditional 120 gram shaft. Since I use 85 gram shafts in my irons which work great for my smoother swing the 120gr shafts were potentially a cause of my shot game frustration. the clubs arrived last week and I put them in play for the first time on Sunday and hit them very well. The weight difference seemed to help with club control and while,I didn’t hit a lot of shots with them. Popular Post Berg Ryman
Well, pictures are here. 2/3s of the order made it. The Smart Sole 4.0 C wedge and CBX Zipcore are here! Smart Sole likely goes in the bag for Thursday's round, Zipcore will wait until my Tour Rack with the custom grind shows up next week as that fits the gapping better. Popular Post edingc
Haven't bought anything in a while so had to scratch the itch... Cobra RadSpeed Big Tour 3 wood is on the way from Global Golf. I've had enough of the Super Hybrid. A lot of inconsistency which I think stems from me playing it too much like a fairway wood. It's been hook city lately. And the RadSpeed comes with a Motore X F1 7X shaft, which I know I get along with well. cksurfdude, sirchunksalot, Vegan_Golfer_PNW and 7 others 10 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 7.5 / Anti-Cap: 13.0 (Last Updated Feb. 19, 2024) Driver: Callaway Paradym TD (10.5°, -1/N), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Fitting Post 3 Wood: Cobra RadSpeed Big Tour (14.5°), 43", Fujikura Motore X F1 7X 20° Hybrid: PXG 0211 (2020 Model), 40.25", Mitsubishi Tensei AV RAW White 90X 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", Aerotech SteelFiber i110cw Stiff 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B.
