Syks7 Posted September 30, 2022 Share Posted September 30, 2022 (edited) Been mulling over some speed training but don't want to blow my monthly golf budget Stack exceeds my monthly and Super Speed doesn't leave a lot left over for me to actually play. I'm not looking for a huge bump in speed, I'd just like to bump my average smooth swing speed to where my max speeds are. That would give me more than enough. Enter Amazon... they've got my number. I usually want to buy from reputable companies, especially if its knock off stuff, but today it pushed me a $40 speed training club and I couldn't say no. It looks fine, but that being said, I'm going to be swinging it at a net for the forseeable future just in case. Side note, I like how it specifies D4 swing weight... I hope thats all weights attached? Because if its D4 with only the light weight it'll feel like a sledge with another 85 grams added (I4!!!???). It looks like the protocol it specifies is lifted directly form super speed, so I'm going to do that. I was playing the Rogue ST Max hybrids, and they were okay, but not really what I was hoping for? Not as forgiving as I thought, and I was having a hard time with the 18* 3H. The 20* was better, but not by much. I talked to a Callaway rep, and he suggested I swap them out for the OS, keeping the same shaft and flex. I wasn’t crazy about the idea as the OS are a degree weaker and sit really closed, but I played them today, and wow! They were exactly what I want to see from a hybrid. Forgiving, high trajectory with a baby draw, and because of that, they were much longer than the previous version I had. What were the odds that a Callaway rep would give me a better fitting club than I could pick out myself? They were good irons and I played well with them but the bag chatter got to me. It’s kinda pathetic but my ocd just got the best of me. It’s why I use iron headcovers! Haha. Thought I had a set of PXG Gen4 0311P Xtreme Darkness irons on eBay. Won the auction in the middle of the night but the seller canceled the sale before I could pay. Apparently he forgot to set his reserve and didn’t realize it. I asked what his reserve was and it was $400 more than I won the auction at. No thanks. So instead I have a set of custom 718 Titleist T-MB 5-PW heads coming. Pics make them look amazing with the dark finish on the back/sole removed. The big question left is do I install the recoil 95 shafts or find something different? The feeling is getting your arms and hands beneath the grip and that simple change gets your elbows in sync...I can feel my arms swinging at the same pace. While I prefer the smaller grips and have made that abundantly clear, the small grip on this putter was incongruent at best. I fell off a steep cliff that was finally put to rest after my last rounds splendid execution of 5, 3 putts. More to come on these... For $93 delivered I might as well take a shot. Mostly excited about being able to go 2.5 or 3 degrees flat. My Epic Flash is a rocket launcher but it's impossible to not draw the ball. Should be able to get 1.5 or 2 degrees flatter than the EF on the PXG. But after reading your post I checked the PXG website. Their veteran’s pricing was too good to pass up. And tomorrow is my birthday. I wouldn't be able to keep the angle of the grip and add loft even if I wanted to.
