Mostly excited about being able to go 2.5 or 3 degrees flat. My Epic Flash is a rocket launcher but it's impossible to not draw the ball. Should be able to get 1.5 or 2 degrees flatter than the EF on the PXG.

Arrived today.  I have no comparison to anything else but it seems to be pretty well built.  It held up through my first session of Super speed protocol --swinging it as hard as I could with the heavy weight (A surprising 122 mph)  I haven't weighted anything yet so nothing about the actual weight though I will say that the weights are freshly machined with SHARP! threads.  

On another note, I now see why it says to do this every other day.  21 swings as hard as you can dominant side and 18 more on non dominant is a surprisingly good little workout.  Also surprising, my left hand swing maxed out at 110.  It was ugly as all hell, but it was fast.

Took months to get it after my fitting but finally in my bag    The one drawback, the back end i too narrow to scoop up a missed putt  Hopefully there won’t be any to scoop…  Anxious to give the super stroke claw grip a try  ive be putting claw/pencil for several year - will be interesting to use a flat grip made for it

After 'testing" a couple Titleist drivers this past summer, I now have "in hand" a TSR2 driver and (2) TSR3 fairways (15 & 18) all with Project X Hzrdus 4G 6.0 shafts.

 

Also, bought (2) plane tickets to Myrtle Beach, leaving tomorrow morning with SWMBO for a week and taking my clubs with me. Will be staying in North Myrtle Beach area. First days off since early March. 

 

Currently at work, trying to get all I need to do completed, so I can get out early, pack, and head to the airport here early tomorrow morning.

Okay, so bear with me here. I know I’m leaving myself up to ridicule here after posting in the how did you play thread I was returning my PXG XP irons, but there’s been a change of plans. Go figure….

I brought them to a PXG fitter about 40 miles away and after a few swings, he adjusted the lie angles a bit and I was hitting them a lot better. Then we started messing around with the Gen4 hybrids. He suggested I send back the 5i in my set and exchanging it for a 5H.

I thought I was hitting the 5i just fine, but it was hard to argue that the hybrid wasn’t an improvement, and for an additional $30 it was worth making the change.

I liked the 4 hybrid enough to order that also. I placed this order through him, since he didn’t charge for the lie adjustments, and he took $10 off the $139 price of the hybrids and he will save me the shipping fee by sending the 5 iron back himself.

Long story short, I’m keeping XP’s now. I’m very happy with how I’m hitting them and I got two new 4&5 hybrids for $159 total.

Flights were only $86.00 for each of us so it was a no brainer to make this happen.

Everyone at work knows I will be unavailable for the next week, although I did have to bring my work laptop just in case of emergency.

Weather is supposed to be sunny and 70's, and I really hope to get 2, possibly 3 rounds in.

SWMBO has to agree to number 3, she already is OK with 2. 

Since I have laptop, I may be able to post some pictures here too.

That's a really great deal on the airfare to get from MI to SC! I know you've had a really busy year at work and I'm glad to hear you're finally getting a little downtime. Hopefully you won't have any emergencies from work and you and SWMBO can enjoy some time together. Ain't nothing like time with the family.

Well, I've bought a few things but haven't gotten to try anything yet so it's all very provisional.. .. there's a new 4H, and a replacement shaft for the existing 4H -these may get tested tomorrow - and then an experimental driver shaft and a demo 7i on the way.

Picked up a used but in very good condition set of Cleveland Launcher XL Halo Irons (4 - PW) to fiddle around with.  These have the Project X Cypher Graphite shafts .  They even came with the jumbo Golf Pride CP2 Wrap Grips which I have on my other XL irons! The grips look brand fricking new and I'm pumped to have a SGI set to fiddle around with. Oh and the price was exceptionally good at $545.00 with my veterans discount.

It arrived today... And I'm at home solo with my 3 year old daughter.   Argh!  Can't even take it out to the net.   Can't wait until she's old enough to take to the range.  

Haven't done anything but take a few dry swings with it, but I'm happy that I went with the tensei raw blue 75.  Whole thing is right at d7.5 which is where I was aiming.  No adjustment required.  Nice touch from the builder to put the shaft text down.  Wish they'd done the same for the pxg on the grip but I'm sure they have orders to keep it upright.  It's getting swapped out tonight anyway.  It just feels right already.  Let's hope it's as smooth and stable when I'm hitting a ball as it feels right now.

Saw your post on Reddit and was wondering if you were a Spy! I got the same shaft in the 7 wood I ordered, let me know what you think once you get it out on the range.

Well the new 4H got out to play today and it gets a big .. super easy to hit, even straight a few times , and good distance, too. Nice solid feel at impact with a nice pitched ting!  

Oh.... it's a Cally Rogue ST Max OS with PX Cypher Black (50g/5.0).

I'd looked at the non OS version (on Callaway Pre-Owned) but this one had a shaft I like and the specs looked good. 

Still have to test the new shaft in the prior 4H, and then put the two head to head, but for now it looks like the Max may be staying in the bag a while.

I try not to post the same thing in both places, but couldn't help myself on this one. 13 years of golf and I've never bought a new driver.  I've only ever bought a new putter and a utility iron from Sub 70.  Usually I'm the king of the used bin and 2ndswing.

I feel like a kid on Christmas today.  Hopefully it lives up to my internal hype.   Will let you know how it is in the morning.  I'll be at the range about 10 minutes after I drop my daughter off at school.

So the answer is a pretty emphatic thumbs up.  It's obviously a honeymoon period, but the shaft and head combo seem like they're going to keep me out of the s***.  I may not always be in the fairway but it doesn't feel like I'm going to be spraying the ball around nearly as much.  Driver isn't my best club so I didn't hit the center of the face a ton, but the shaft did help me deliver the face to the ball in a tight pattern around the center.  Very stable.  I didn't hit out on the edges at all short of a couple thin ones --which isn't the case with the M2 where I find the edges a lot.    The one little downer is that I did notice that center of the face wasn't as lively as my M2 and I'm probably losing a bit of distance, but average distance and accuracy is probably way up from the M2.  Will bring the cheapo launch monitor next time.  Sound is great, muted and less tingy than the M2.

Awesome - stability is really what I'm looking for in the wood that I ordered, so sounds like it should fit the bill.
