Agree with your thoughts of "kind of hard to pass up" and I am fairly certain that for the TSi2 to get close to that price may take longer than you may think.

Oh I realize that, lol. I’m talking maybe a $50 or so price drop? It’s another club I don’t really need right now, but I really like my 21* TSi2, so the idea of a matching 5H makes sense to me.

That sounds very well thought out, but I know myself all too well. Once I start “thinking” about getting a club, I’m better off just getting it, because I always do it anyway within a week or two.

I'll be honest, when I saw ads for this, I thought "that's so dumb"... But then on vacation last month, they had this set up next to the pool, and we watched people having a blast playing it. So.... Now it's mine - PutterBall, cross been putting and beer pong.

Doesn't fold out as smooth as I'd hoped, but still looks fun. Unfortunately we planned to use it for the first time on NYE, but 🤮 toddler cancelled our plans.

Second similar purchase that also had it's maiden NYE voyage cancelled - not technically golf, but can be a fun addition to a buddies trip (comes apart, so very portable): Craggy Hooks game. Played a few games against the wife on NYE, and it's definitely a good time.

new tour set epoxy

possibly a BGT Brava driver shaft(hoping to test it next week)

Well it didn’t happen how I planned. My epoxy is bad and the new hasn’t arrived yet so I took the clubs to my local guy to have them for tomorrow’s start to the winter sim league. Forgot to take pics before but will get some tomorrow when I pick them up.

I left my PXG Gen5 0311 driver head with him to see if any of his connections may want to buy it. He texted me a bit ago asking if I’d include the Accra RPG shaft with it and what I wanted. I mentioned if I got enough to take the sting out of the Brava X price I’d be happy. Long story short it’s a straight up trade for the new BGT Brava X shaft with a Ping g430 adapter.

Hoping it’s better than the Autoflexx 505xx for me as I hit it today while waiting for him to have a minute and couldn’t keep the thing in the planet.  Everything super high and left with tons of spin.  Club speed was up 2-3mph and ball speed was up 4-5mph but direction, spin, and distance were worse. If I slowed myself way down, I could get the spin down and distance back but still went left.

I think that you are going to love those Edison wedges.  I started with just one Edison wedge (a 49* that I use as my gap wedge). I played that wedge from the later part of 2021 until about 4 months ago, and then added 45*, 54*, and 59* Edison wedges to my bag (the 45* is bent to 44* loft and has replaced the pitching wedge in my iron set). All four of those Edison wedges are in my bag, and they are both the best, and most versatile, wedges that I own …. and I own a lot of wedges!

DR - Callaway Paradym AI Smoke TD, Newton Motion 4-Dot

4W - Callaway Paradym 3HL, Newton Motion Fairway shaft, 4-Dot

HYB - Paradym X 18*, HZRDUS Smoke Red 80S; Sub 70 949X 21*, same shaft

7W (if played) - Sub 70 849, ProForce Black 80-S

Irons - Callaway Paradym, HZRDUS Silver Gen 4, S-flex

Wedges - Edison 2.0, 53* and 57* (bent to 58*), KBS TGI 100

Putter - (currently in flux, but usually an Evnroll 8V

Ball - Maxfli Tour-X CG (2023)

Bags - Ghost Golf Maverick Black Ops

Cart - MotoCaddy M7 Remote (without the remote)

Spoiler

driver / off the tee is no longer a weakness for me!

I had actually planned on demoing the Brava shaft first but with his offer I figured why not.  I change shafts as often as I do clubs and that’s the only reason I have yet to invest in the all-fit adapter system. Something I may have to change now that I have a local guy that is doing everything he can to carry all brands. 🤦🏻‍♂️

He is super high on the Edel SMS irons and trying to push me there. Not sure I want to spend 2K on a set of irons though.

He is also the only guy within 100 miles of me that carries some Evnroll putters so he may just get some more coin out of me next month.

Found an SM9 58* wedge from Global Golf that was Left Handed and really good condition.   I usually only like to buy new for wedges, but there are free returns and it's not like I'm in a rush here in Indiana to play - so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I’ve had great luck with Global Golf. Clubs always seem to be in better condition than they are graded for. Tough to find those lefty wedges on there at times, too! Hope it works out for you!

I did essentially the same thing with my 54* and 59* Edison wedges the first two rounds that I played them. On the very first hole of the first round, I chipped in for birdie with the 54* wedge, and later in that round I hit two pitches over bunkers to tight (or semi-tight) pin positions using the 59* Edison wedge and both shots ended up much closer to the hole than I expected or hoped for.  The second round was more of the same, with lots of close approaches. The capper came in a tournament round where I once again chipped in to win a skin in a 108-player field (I also finished T4 and won more money in that tournament).

Are you planning on keeping all of these in play for all of 2023? Just curious, as it seems you went from a variety to a 90% + Ping set-up.

Either way, best of luck with them all!

I assume you were asking me lol. I need more time with the irons to know for sure. They feel amazing when hit out of the center but not so much when mishit.
The g430 lst and Brava X shaft is performing outstanding.  I will hit/try the other drivers if available but won’t go out of my way to do so. The others would have to be really good to get me to switch. Looks and feel are top notch and performance is right there with anything I have ever hit.
My only nitpick would be the face being shallower than I’m use to but so far that has been a non issue.

It's rainy, work has been busy, I haven't been able to play, and I've been dreaming about a retirement that is decades away.  Why not learn a little more about golf clubs and the equipment side.

I just got what feels like a great bargain on  PXGs eBay outlet. It’s a 17* Gen5 0311 hybrid in Excellent condition for $105 and free shipping. In the notes section of the listing it said “original item”. I called the PXG rep I know up on Long Island, and he told me that means it’s a new, unused return. The only issue is it has a midsize grip. I like to play the standard size tour velvet 360, so that will be a cheap fix.
I struggle hitting FWs off the deck, but I’ve always considered hybrids a strength of my game, so what I’m hoping for here is a club that will be my distance club off grass, and be a little easier to control with a shorter shaft than my 3w. I don’t expect it to be a scoring club, low, hot runners will be acceptable, anything more will be a bonus. If I’m playing a course where I need to carry water or waste areas, I’ll swap in my 5w.

At the end of the day, it will be a fun club to fool around with. If it works out, great. If not, considering what I paid I can’t see myself losing any money trading or selling this club. 🤷‍♂️

This 17* hybrid came yesterday, and after 2 range sessions, my G425 5W and my Hy-wood are heading off to greener pastures 😉

I’ll admit that I was a little leery about whether I had the SS to play a 2H, and whether the XF version might have been a better choice. It turns out I stumbled onto a monster. I can’t hit a bad shot with this thing. The ball flight is a lot higher than I expected, and it is ending up just short of my 3W when I hit it off turf. I never had to adjust a setting, and after 50 or so balls, I couldn’t be more pleased.

The club was brand new, and the price was unreal. It turned out their outlet had some sort of sale going on, and the Gen5 are now a lot more expensive on their eBay site. Buying blind doesn’t always work out, but this time I got very lucky.

Just ordered this.  Have a weird relationship with the DHY clubs; love them for their more iron-like quality, but don't get quite the distance I want compared to my Apex Pro hybrids.  Think I found the secret sauce with this one though.  And I got it at a discount, so that eased the sting of the shaft upgrade a bit.

Pics when it arrives...

I've got a wedge bending question for our resident builder @McGolf as it relates to sole geometry I plan on asking during his next stream. Once I do, I think the decision as to wedges for 2023 will be decided.
