What Have You Bought Lately? (CHA - Club Ho's Anonymous)

Been looking for a set of irons to add to the rotation for travel since I don't trust my current bag with any commercial airline.  Was in a local shop this afternoon for some grips and ended up with a set of Titleist 712 CBs with 85g VS Protos for under $200.  Not sure they have any shot to challenge the Hogans, but they will be nice to take to and from Vegas or Miami.

Maybe you should just get a set for each location and leave them there.

I'm playing the XR pros, and I really like them, and I have heard that the CF16's are much better. If I wouldn't get into trouble, I would look into a set of cf16.

They gave me best flight, ball speed, spin and launch numbers... compared to the Apex Pro and AP

The Fly Z+ gave me also very good results (and for half the price), but I waited too long and they are not available anymore with that shaft. Can't wait for the season to start!!!

Now pondering... get a new driver as well... or stick to what I have

I hit the fly z + 7 iron 210 yards with the recoil shaft in it but it was all over the place

Went for my driver fitting today. Ended up with the Ping G SF Tec in 10° with an Aldila RIP'd NV 65 stiff at 1/2 inch short.

 

Inside on Trackman I was carrying my G25 around 250 on average. The G was coming in at 264 average carry. Hit about 30 balls outside. Same results. I normally carry driver to the base of the trees at the end of the range. New driver was carrying 1/3 to halfway up said trees. Solid high draws but not overdone which I was worried about with the SF Tec. If I can have one side of the course eliminated this could be a good year.

 

I'm in love. Hopefully the honeymoon lasts.

Nice. I love my 64° PM.

I am thinking after one range session that it was a waste of money for me. Any shot I would need it for I can hit with a 58* wedge. I do like the 58* version but it is going to take some getting used to.

It took some time for me to get use to. It's my go-to club for greenside bunker shots. Our greens are fast with a lot of "bad miss" areas around them. I'm awesome at missing in those spots and short siding myself. For me it just makes sense. My longest iron is my 5 at 25° so I have no reason to carry two hyrbids. At the same time, I'm sure I miss a lot more greens than you so that probably plays into it as well.

I miss plenty of greens just more comfortable with a lower lofted wedge. I generally don't like to have two clubs in the bag that serve the same purpose and so far I have not found a way that the 64 is different from the 58. If I were still playing at my club in Philly then the 64 would have a purpose as the greens are tiny and have a lot of places that misses are bad, very very bad.

I carry a 64 for just a few holes on my course. Bad green shapes that are above your feet and you miss right or left you're pitching to a narrow green from 2" grass. Those shots are what I use it for. Keep the leading edge square and let the lift do the work. I carry a regular shaped head though. My pm grinds just wanted to be laid open

My club just got a new shipment of Pebble Creek logo FootJoy 1/4 pullovers, both SS and long sleeve. As they were selling fast, I got a long sleeve. Word it this morning for 5 holes, very comfortable......$67

For those early morning rounds, I just replaced our Mr Coffee maker with a new Nespresso Virtuoline brewer and Aerrocino milk frother. I just went from 2 cups a day to 32.

If I did that, my scores would go from 80 to 100.  Only 2 cups a day and Nooooo coffee at least 3 hours before tee times.

I bought one the other day when I bought the Callaway balls. I couldn't play it. Kangaroo leather was fine but they put a pro tac type compound on it. They're sticky as hell like the old Neumann batting gloves

Thanks, will let you know my thoughts when they show up.  May not be the worst thing for me since I used the Neuman gloves religiously in my baseball days.

Just went on a buying spree today to build a second bag for travel and to keep in either Vegas or Miami.  Pulled the trigger on irons a few days ago that fell through so had to start from square one.  The travel bag will be:
