Did a full-bag fitting at Club Champion today for 50% off. Well worth it!

I bought a caddytek push cart from TGW because it was $120 shipped to Hawaii. Trying to save my back so I can play when I'm Jack's age, and the course I play after work has some brutal elevation changes. Hope it doesn't suck!

Wish I'd made that decision before I threw my back out. Good move. And I've heard the Caddytek carts are pretty decent.

Yeah, I don't have the best back from years of surfing, and an IT job. I recently found out how much a great ergonomic chair helps, and strengthening my core keeps the back pain away as well.

I've been chatting with Rickp and he has me excited about the Snell Red golf balls.  I had to order some to see how they fit my game.  Looking forward to their arrival!

Results:

Leave KZG VC 460 driver head alone, change shaft to the Veylix Rome 688 X stiff

Leave Callaway XR 3w alone altogether

Leave X2 Hot Pro hybrid alone altogether

Leave Mizuno MP-18 driving iron head alone, change shaft to Veylix Rome 988 hybrid shaft X Stiff (This went from a weak, high shot, to an absolute LASER hitting machine with that shaft! 220 carry, 250 total avg!!! Can't wait to get it built!)

Irons: 2 choices... TM P790 4-PW, PX LZ 6.5 shafts, +1/2”, +1/2* upright, D7 swing weight, adjust lofts on some of the irons weaker

OR

Add 1/2” to mine, bend them upright at least 1/2*, add weight to get swing weight up, strengthen lofts by 1*-2*.

Going with the latter!

Wedges: leave alone

Putter: leave alone after having it bent to 1* of loft after SAM session

All-in-all, what I have fits me pretty darned well, and there STILL isn't a driver out right now that can beat my KZG!!!!

Are you going to make all those changes or wait until you flesh out your swing change?

I'm sending my irons to be adjusted Monday. I'll buy the two shafts in the next month or so.

Recently got my irons and wedge retrofit to Jeffmont's (Redbird Sports) Dimensional Fitting System and its awesome! Misses are way tighter and my setup feels much more natural now compared to traditional fittings.

For those of you intrigued about the idea here you go.

I've loved the look of their stuff, did you get their irons or just spec'd to their set up?

I had just purchase my Cobra King Black CB/MB's for a really good price thanks to my side job so I just had them bent to their specs. I did hit their Avian 530's while I was there and they were quite nice.

And, by-the-way, the PXG irons were actually the overall winner! I told him, “I came to the Ferrari dealership, so I want to take them for a test drive!”

Yeah, they're silly good. Wayyyyyyy out of my price range!

Spent this week in the Minneapolis area, teaching a seminary course in the morning. That left the afternoons free to do something I can't do in my remote, rural part of Michigan's Upper Peninsula: go to golf stores! I hit PGA Tour Superstore, Golf Galaxy, Dick's, and 2nd Swing. For someone who does essentially all of his golf shopping online, the ability to spend a few hours looking at all the clubs I've read about and rolling dozens of different putters was awesome.

Unfortunately, the experience of shopping online also means that there is virtually no way I can get myself to pay brick-and-mortar prices for those things.

But I did come away with two clearance rack items: a gaudy orange Cobra hat that will become my son's prized possession, and a box of "The Pill" training aids. I already have the "Putter Wheel" which is quite similar, and might do an informal head-to-head review on the forum in the near future.

I have been looking at those two aids. Very curious to hear your thoughts on how they compare!

Well, folks, I pulled a “fast one”.... I ordered 4-PW of Mizuno MP-18 SC with PX LZ 6.5 shafts.

Yep, I was going to just make some changes to mine, but when Discount Dan's said my total price after applying my credit was $769...? Yeah. Trigger-pulled!

I couldn't pass-up an increase in spin, ball speed, distance, and the amazing feel. I have thoroughly enjoyed my Edels. They're in great shape and now on eBay!
