Boys I just popped in to say that I haven't bought anything since Oct 1st of last year. I had to go check my ebay account to see how long it had been. Aaaand while I was there I went ahead and bought a shaft that I had been watching. Fuji Rombax p95 in X. I made it a grand total of 5 months and 21 days. Pretty good for me.

Yall are a bad influence haha

Bought a GMac by Kartel polo specifically to match the new Jordan Trainer ST's.  Also bought a set of Adams CC1 heads (this is the second time I've bought a set, these actually shipped though).  I'll be having those reworked by The Iron Factory.

In The Bag
Driver: TaylorMade M2 (2017) w/ Project X T1100 HZRDUS Handcrafted 65x
Strong 3 wood: Taylormade M1 15* w/ ProjectX T1100 HZRDUS handcrafted 75x
3 Hybrid: Adams PRO 18* w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4 Hybrid: Adams PRO 20* (bent to 21*) w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4-AW: TaylorMade P770 w/ Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Black Onyx S400

SW: 56* Scratch Tour Dept(CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
LW: 60* Scratch Tour Department (CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
XW: 64* Cally XForged Vintage w/ DG X100 8 iron tiger stepped
Putter: Nike Method Prototype 006 at 34"

Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. Bomb and gouge. Yes, I'm a club gigolo.

Stopped on my way home for some grip solvent at PGA SS and also left with an Odyssey Metal X Milled 2 ball putter. Tried saying no but for $100 new I just could not. May actually throw it in the bag for the weekend.

While not technically a purchase I won a church raffle last week and when my wife went to pick up the winnings she had a choice of a softball bat or a putter.  She obviously went for the putter but unfortunately this is what I won.

http://adamsgolf.com/Yes%21-Donna/DW-JIC04.html#start=2

I could never get over the look of it, but have to say it is very soft feeling and really puts a good roll on the ball.  But highlighter yellow......just can't get over it.  And this comes from a guy that had the original Futura in the bag for a few seasons.

You guys are a really bad influence.  I bought my SLDR after the MGS Most Wanted review just like most of you, and I liked it for the most part.  It was a little longer than most other drivers I tried, and predictable which I liked.  I am certainly not a long hitter, so predictable and in the fairway is good.  However, that was a few years ago, and I attribute my wandering eye mostly to PlaidJacket, since he has been out looking for a replacement for his SLDR but many others are currently doing the same thing as posted in other threads.

This Easter weekend my wife and I visited my Mom and Dad in Corvallis Oregon.  It is also my Mom's 87th birthday today.  Just down the road in Eugene Oregon is the Fiddler's Green Golf Shop and Mmmmmmbuddy.  Check out the store at http://www.fiddlersgreen.com

Nic has the new Bridgestone JGR driver and Hybrid Irons and after Barbajo's and MGoBlue's visit to Bridgestone Golf, I thought I would give them a try.  First the Hybrid Irons:  Very intriguing!  If I were seriously looking for replacement irons in a game-improvement category, I would get these.  I might anyway down the road.  They launch high and very straight.  If you are looking for an iron to work one way or the other, these aren't for you but I would say that they are great for people that want a high straight shot.  Who doesn't want to hit a high 6 iron that flies as far as a 4 iron.  I was hitting the JGR's with the UST Recoil graphite shaft and comparing them to my MacGregor VIP 1025M blades reshafted with UST ProForce graphite in regular flex.  I hit the same lofted clubs and visually I thought I was getting about the same distance; maybe the JGR's were a tad longer, but I am still liking my new old Macgregors!

Next I tried the JGR driver.  It has a distinctive sound, louder than most other drivers but not obnoxious to me.  Nic also brought out the M1, Cobra, and Ping drivers.  Of those, only the Ping G felt reasonable and I might have been able to adjust to it, but the JGR felt good from the first swing. Since there is no adjustability at the hosel, I hit the 10.5* and the 12*.  I hit good ones with both, but the 12* produced more better (excuse the poor English) shots.  At $299 I brought it home.  The yellow is not my favorite club color, but I can see where this would be a good seller in Duck country!!  However, the yellow grip will quickly be replaced with a Pure DTX grip.

But that's not all...  My wife had to try on shoes.  She ended up with the Ecco Biom G2

i-whitecandy-qv.jpg

While she was trying them on, I found a pair of Johnston & Murphy slip-ons to wear to the course.  I got tired of untying and tying my regular shoes at the course.

IMG_0433 (1).jpg

Of course at checkout, my wife found her preferred golf ball, Srixon yellow Z-Stars for $25 dozen so we got a couple of dozen.  All in all, a good trip.  I'll be headed back in a month or so, but I might have to avoid the Fiddler's Green; they have a lot of nice gear but I would probably spend a lot every time I go there.  Thanks Nic??!!

Great to see you yesterday Ken!  I hope that you got home early enough for a quick 9.  I am looking forward to an oncourse report on that Driver.  After watching the ball flight, it was VERY clear to me that the options you ended up with were much better.

If you make it down this summer, we will have to get out and play a round on the weekend.  Could be some fun!

Will do.  Thanks for the help.  I'll let you know how the JGR works.

I seem to be down there about every 4-6 weeks.  The former pro at TriCity Country Club here in Kennewick, Chris Isaacson, is now the Head Pro and GM at Emerald Valley Golf Course.  Great guy and good instructor.  I live across the street from his mother.  I haven't played there yet, but maybe we could plan a trip on your day off when I am in town.

While she was trying them on, I found a pair of Johnston & Murphy slip-ons to wear to the course. I got tired of untying and tying my regular shoes at the course.

I picked up a pair from Nike for the same reason.

I found the SCOR Wedge Grips.....I liked the SCOR wedge grips that came on my wedges last year.  But, alas, the grips were worn so I replaced them with Pure wraps.....I found the SCOR style grips from a clubmaker and ordered 5.  They arrived today.  I am very happy because lamkin made the wedge grips and now I have replacements.....my cost for 5, including postage was $15.

Was on my way to my club to play today and got rained out.  Stopped at PGA Tour Superstore to get a Super Stroke for my Metal X Milled 2 Ball and they had the Lucky Clover MD3 wedges.  Bought the 52* and 58* to add to the bag.  Shocked they actually had them in stock and man they look good in person.
