buying clubs ahead of a holiday weekend was a terrible idea. waiting an extra day for shipping sucked

Ordered a Odyssey Bird of pray putter that I got yesterday and rolled it indoors on my puttout mat, really loved it except for the grip that I will replace to a Superstroke grip. Will take ut out today or tomorrow on the putting green and try it some more in real conditions before I change the grip though just in case something weird happens and I want to return it.

Always been intrigued by center shafted putters and this one seems to be a decent one...

I have a hard time finding gloves that fit 'decently' and don't fall apart after 5 rounds.
I have had one of these Zero Friction gloves in white for a long time and it is always in great shape. I really like the way this fits and my first round with it I shot 78.

So I called PXG this morning to ask a question about the 0211 irons I ordered last week. Next thing you know I'm talking putters. 

Guess how that played out? Yep, a 33.5" Closer is on the way, LOL. I always wanted a Scotty Squareback, but no go in Lefty. (shocker). Anyway, the salesman put it on my irons order, so no shipping, and at $245 it's $150 cheaper than the Scotty and the same price as Odyssey. I went with the "murdered out" version, black head, shaft and grip.

Set of PXG irons  w/MMT shafts & putter for $880 just might be one of the most surprisingly good deals I've ever gotten with golf equipment. Makes the $60 shipping fee go down easier knowing there are two boxes coming also.

Those Pumas are so comfortable, however, I recommend getting some additional waterproofing on them ASAP. Mine were waterproof for about 10 rounds only. They do have a waterproofing warranty, I believe. Also, my pair developed cracks in the sole mid-season. Cobra replaced them without question, but I just want to bring that up.

A full review of those and the PWRAdapt "Caged" versions is on my list to do after #CC4 wraps up. 

(Also, C-Taper Lites are fantastic. Enjoy!)

The Zero Friction gloves are great!
They were running a BOGO deal for a month w a box of Tees......I now have 10 gloves and a LOT of Tees

Just bought a new smartwatch Suunto 7. I was able to download the golfpad app onto the watch so I will have distances and be able to log clubs and other things with it. I have been using golfpad for years and enjoy logging my rounds with it. Having a watch that can run the app will be a new adventure but it will be fun to give it a try.

My game is suddenly in shambles. I'm thinking of calling PXG Monday and canceling my iron set and putter. Really down on myself right now.... anybody have some cheese for my whine? LOL.

I would say that if you're going to play bad, you should at least look good doing it.

I can tell you that we have all been there.  I'm been there a couple of times this year.  It will quickly come back.  I consider @silver & black the poster child for coming back from the shambles.  I'm not sure what he did, but the turnaround was amazing.  

Sometimes we need to just make a change in equipment, and new irons and putter may do the trick.  Think positive!!

I just quit worrying about making shots and scoring. I got the mind set to just enjoy playing and not get so serious about my score. It's amazing how much better you do if you stop putting so much pressure on yourself to play well.

hahaI don't know what crawled up my uhhh pants leg, because the SIM was a solid fairway finder, really solid. BUT, it wasn't any longer that my Ping G400LST. And that club was already a fairway finder. I think you’ll like it.  I had the MAX-D earlier this year snd it didn’t work for what i wanted.  I’ve had the Sub Zero in the bag—-alternating with the Cobra SZ Extreme—for about a month now.  It’s been very good.

Think I am slowing getting my wife on board with golf purchases. Driver for father's day and superspeed golf for the birthday maybe wedges for Christmas? Don't want to get too ahead of myself yet though.

... I have been looking at the Super Hybrid since they came out but at $319 even with the Pro Orange Hy shaft that was a little too expensive for an experiment. Callaway almost had me with their Pre Owned Hybrid sale but I still didn't pull the trigger even in Like New condition. Then those basturds sent me a code for free shipping and it was too much to resist... sigh.

Played in a scramble yesterday with a guy that had the Sim Max D driver.  I hit it a few times into a field while we were waiting on the tee. Distance wise it was hard to judge but the flight was really nice. I have been struggling with the Proto X the last few rounds so today I traded it for a Sim Max. It isn’t the D version but it may stem the tide for the rest of the season. Especially with the odds being that I have less than a month left of it.

Will do. I sure hope I don’t.  Everything was a nice baby draw with the D version so I’m hoping at worst it will straighten that out. While some golfers prefer to eliminate the left side of the course, I prefer to eliminate the right.  I’m guessing the D version was what I should have went with but a straight up trade and a diminishing season sealed the deal.
