I did something yesterday that I never imagined doing...I bought Taylor Made wedges...

I have hated my current setup all season and try as I may, I have little faith.  They work but they could always be better.  So I took a ride to my local shop where I worked in college.  The blue chip guys who are close to retirement still work there and they're wonderful.  Unfortunately, none were free to help get me squared away.  So I walk in and say I know what I need, two low bounce wedges, whatever you have in demos to try and in a 52 and a 58 and I will try anything except Callaway.  The salesman says woah, slow down and proceeds to give me the sales pitch about bounce.  After ten minutes he came outside and we talked about working there and he figured out I didn’t need to be sold.

So here they are...I cannot believe I did this but I love the look of that 52 with a teardrop.

You'll love those milled grind wedges! I have one in a 60 degree that I picked up used from Golftown in Canada. I was looking for used wedges and there was nothing good at all on the rack so I asked the sales associate to see if there was any more in the back. He comes out with this almost new 60 with a MCC plus 4 GP grip and this thing is sweet. He says "I have no clue how but this is only 40$."  I bought it right then and there. I can make it stop on a dime off most types of lie's. I really want to try the hi toe those things are beauties.

Well this is a different twist on the posts here. This box arrived today for my wife. Since she was away, she asked me to open it up and check the grips. FYI, I checked the grips but I'm not about to unwrap the clubs  - that would be akin to unwrapping her Christmas presents. In the box. Big Bertha heads 7i - GP on Recoil ESX shafts -..50, 19* Big Bertha hybrid with the same Recoil shaft  -.25. Still to come are a Ping 410 9 wood on CB R flex shaft and a CBX 56* on a Rotex shaft.  I think my credit card is still smoking.

... Awesome. I would gladly offer my CC to the Mrs if she took enough interest to buy herself new clubs! She joins me about 3 times a month and shoots in the low 90's occasionally getting in the high 80's. She trusts me to make sure she has the right clubs, which of course I have done. I put her in a L-flex Tensei Blue I tipped 1/2" in a Cobra Fly Z and she won't let me touch that combo. New CBX2 wedges this season and 588MT's with 4/5 hybrids. I can make changes but I have to give her a good reason why, which isn't always easy.

My wife is one who doesn't like to change clubs.  She changed her woods 6 years ago to L flex from senior flex because her swing speed had dropped.  She still has M flex in her TaylorMade Burner irons, but I made the mistake of suggesting that she at least get them reshafted.  One of these days she'll figure it out.

This was a big step for my wife. Her first set (about 8 yrs ago) was OTR at Dicks. Then an upgrade to Ping Rhapsody irons about 4 yrs ago through our club - their fitting process was basically - these are the 'right' clubs for you. She never saw the need for a fitting until she went with me this past May.

Now I hear her talking on the phone to her golfing gal buddies, saying: "you can't believe how many shaft and head combinations the Fitter tried' and "I was there hitting golf ball for 2 1/2 hours" , and "now I know why he wanted me to go to a Fitter".

She even download the Trackman data into a spreadsheet so she can compare Trackman numbers to on the course numbers. 😎

I'm not sure where you're seeing that. It's $12.99 shipping.

My mistake must have brought me to the next best one which was the same price with 50$ shipping. Unreal deal then for that club. Probably perfect for hitting into long par 5's.

Or for long approaches on par 4s after popping up a tee shot. You know, if there's anyone who suffers from that problem 🙂

LOL, that one made me laugh. I am sure that has happened to many people and some are coming to mind. I watched my buddy do it three times on the first hole last time we played😂 the one older man that joined us shouted "You might want to play a tee box up!"

I dropped by Golf Galaxy yesterday hoping they would sell me a .370 ferrule for my Adams DHY project - no dice... bums.

On the upside, I scored this minty Nike Method Concept C1 - even found the matching OEM headcover digging through the used bin.

Yes, it does look pretty funky. But it accompanied the Bettinardi SS38 Armlock to the practice green last night and holy moly is it good! Really nice balance and feel off the face.

Does anybody remember these _or_ better yet, still gaming one?
