... Haha, dealing with this devastating herniated disc has completely derailed my normal winter golf buying activity. The good news is after 5 weeks of PT I am getting close to normal health, with the exception of some nerve damage in my left leg that will slowly get better. The bad news is I am starting to look at sales and eBay for golf stuff again. 😜

All of this time off with no golf has been dangerous for me.  Just picked up a Birdieball putting mat from the Goodwill auction site for $8.99 and a couple Adams hybrids for my daughter for $7.50.  Got my eye on even more stuff for my daughters and my wife (who has decided she wants to start playing again).

Yup, when I can't golf during the winter is when I club ho the most.

Bought a Scotty My Girl today thanks to pressure from my girls when we were in the golf shop killing time before our train. At least SWMBO was taken care of first....

I have a friend who is a pilot, he flies to China quite a bit. He’s always bringing back VL purses for the ladies. Just give him a picture of what they want and it’s available.

Yes they are knock offs but the ladies are happy with the purses, looks and quality.

I go to China several times a year and my wife is spoiled, no knockoffs for her which is why I have the sticks I have. If she gets purses from China I will be forced to buy knockoff putters.

This forum enables me, I swear.
First, a pair of 14 gram weights for my Spider Tour to replace the stock two gram weights. I rolled a new Stroke Lab 10 this past weekend and couldn't get over how much heavier the head felt, and how much better my distance control was with it. So much so that I considered buying it for my birthday present. I'm usually pretty good with reading lines and starting the ball on that line, but my distance control has always been abysmal.
I've never done a lot of research into putters before, but I found that my Spider Tour was very light swing weight wise, so the head feel was much different. It measured out to be something like C6. I experimented with taping pennies on until I found a weight I liked. The additional 24 grams of weight will bring the putter head weight to about 380 grams, total weight to 570 grams total and swing weight to around D4. I play the putter at 33" so that explains why it was so light to begin with.
I can't get much worse with the putter, so we'll see where this gets me come spring. And for $18, weights are a lot cheaper option than buying a new Stroke Lab.
Second, Tensei CK Orange driver shaft (the non-pro version available with TaylorMade drivers) and an adapter for my Epic Flash. I plan to pull the stock TaylorMade adapter and install the Callaway Adapter. Couple reasons for this purchase:
1) After swinging the Tensei White and then my HZRDUS Yellow, I realized how awful the Yellow actually feels. The Orange has a similar profile to the White but maintains the counterbalance found in the Yellow.
2) I want to experiment with potentially shortening my driver shaft to 45" or 44.5". Based on my swings outdoors with a shorter driver, I seem to have a bit better balance through my swing with a shorter shaft. Again, something that will be tested this spring. I will leave the HZRDUS Yellow alone because despite how boardy feeling it is, I produce good numbers with it as is.
The Tensei+Adapter came out to be like $62, so there's not a lot invested in my tinkering.

I love the Tensi's so much in my 410 hybrids I was thinking of changing out the Alta CB in my 410 driver to a Tensi. - although I'm not sure if I want the Ping stock Tensi or the Tensi Orange.

I glossed over the Ventus in your signature until you just mentioned it. I know a lot of people love that shaft.

With the Yellow it sits around D3. I'll have to see how aggressive the counterweighting is on the Tensei Orange. I don't think I'd go any shorter than 45", but I'll definitely need to add more weight to the head.

The reason I got fit into the Smoke and then the Yellow had a lot to do with my awful swing, which is changing rapidly with my lessons. Really searching for something softer in the handle since I have a smooth transition, and hoping the Orange is it. Since my coach has Trackman, I should be able to compare the two shafts outside this summer.

That's an outstanding collection. I just rolled the Spider Tour with the additional weight taped to it and immediately hit several perfect six footers on my Putt-Out trainer. Excited for the weights to arrive.

I hope your son enjoys the GG Live. The hardware is actually pretty nice and tagging gets to be a great part of the pre-shot routine.

Yeah the smoke always felt like trash to me. You should give the Tensei blue another shot, I think you bought it during the test? I've heard I have a smooth transition, and I like it. Wish it was a little more tip stiff like it was supposed to be ordered tipped an inch, but the results in my round yesterday were promising.

I'm thinking about trying the Diamana ZF since Tensei blue is supposed to be similar to the BF, and the ZF is a slightly firmer version of it. Nowhere to get fit tho waaaa 😭

With #noodlearms this seems like the only transition possible.

Decided to really change things up this year.

Been needing some help in the. Short end of the long game so picked up a g400 7 wood. Found it in the used area at GG with a stiff shaft. Pretty excited for it. Was hitting it really well in the bay area there.

Then for the real change. Picked these up off the old eBay. GW-7 iron jpx 900 forged 5&6 irons are mp18 fli-his in ns pro 950gh shafts.

Not a club but golf related. I need to have something when I practice to keep my mind moving and usually listen to music. Discover by accident that Oakley makes sunglasses with Bluetooth headphones in the frames. Got a pair to try out and so far they have been good on my morning walk. Hitting balls with them today.

I recently made my first (and likely last) profitable golf club purchase. Found an Epic Flash SZ with an AD IZ 7X shaft on the bay for $400 and jumped on it, even though I was looking for one with a Ventus. After 3 rounds and 3 range sessions I liked (but def not loved) it. Then I let my buddy use it throughout a round when we played, and he offered me $600, even after I told him what I had paid for it. I guess it was exactly what he had his eyes on and that setup is really tough to find for less than $700 so it was a win win. Now I'm hoping to add to this list again soon with an Epic Flash SZ with a Ventus Blue 6x. My profit will make the purchase feel more like a regular off the rack retail price, so I am justifying it!

I can get back in this thread after standing pat for 8 months. Have a 5 Hybrid on its way. Going to compare it to my 5 Iron.

I did stock up on Srixons Z Star XV’s, but that’s not sexy enough to post!

Can’t wait to go to simulator and let the games begin!
