chisag 11,552
... Not bought but received all new Lamkin ST+2 grips. I have been using Lamkin UTx grips for several years now. Playing without a glove I need max tackiness from my grips and UTx fits the bill if you wipe them before every or every other shot. I needed to reshaft my T100-S with Steelfiber 95 r-flex shafts and after having them in my P760's I needed to cut them down about 1/2" for each iron. The UTx were used for only 2 rounds and when I tried to remove them, they stuck to the grip tape and unfortuneatly had to be cut off. I have never had a problem removing UTx grips so losing 9 new grips was a huge bummer and I contacted Lamkin to find out if they were using a different compound or construction and let them know my dissatisfaction with my latest UTx purchase and IF they are different I was ready to try Golf Prides CP2 Pro grips, but would prefer to stay with Lamkin. ... While Lamkin said grips are not meant to be removed, they admitted new grips sticking to the grip tape was unusual and requested pictures and asked several questions they wanted answers to and said for my trouble they would send me double my problem grips. I had been interested in the ST+2 Hybrid grip as it was described as tackier than the UTx. So I bought a ST+2 grip and installed it Sunday. Then removed it Monday and it came off easily and reinstalled securely like it was the first time it was installed. I really liked the ST+2 and found it quite different than "sticky" grips I have used in the past. It does not feel sticky or even very tacky but the grip was very secure and it never moved in my hands. I let Lamkin know I would like ST+2's as replacements for my UTx and the sent my not 9, but 18 ST+2 grips via 2 day Fed Ex which is the kind of Customer Service that makes me stay with them. I really think double my problem grips is way above and beyond but this is how you keep customers for life. ... I played 18 yesterday with ST+2 grips on my irons and was thrilled with their performance. ST stands for "Smooth Tack" with excellent traction and does not move in my hands without feeling sticky which I think is the best of both worlds! I do not change style of grips often and played 3GEN for many years before moving to UTx when the 3GEN's were discontinued and I will post a mini review after playing these several more rounds. 6 Quote Driver: TaylorMade SIM Max ...
