Picked up a new Vessel XV bag.. Was planning on waiting a while before spending any more money but the 20% off Black Friday deal couldn't be missed. Although I was late and they ran out of the magnetic golf towels. I don't know if that's something that was really nice or not. Somebody take away my credit cards please and change the password to my PayPay.

Curious as to what color you ordered?

I also did the same, ordered a black XV as a bag would have been the only item currently "on-hand and in-play" currently that I would change or needed to make a change.

Also, still showed towels as available when I placed my order, white, not black though.

More money than other cart bags, but the reviews all seem to make them seem worthwhile.

Or so I hope...................................

Nope!!

I can tell you that if you ever play any of the courses at Bandon Dunes, a caddie will save you a bunch of strokes.  It's expensive, but the experience is worth it and your score will be lower.

I also highly recommend a caddie at any of the resort courses where it's an option.  I had a "regular" caddie at Whistling Straits when I was going there every year for a while.  I think he's a Bandon now as a matter of fact.   Had several at Pinehurst as well.

They almost always to a man make the experience much more enjoyable and yes will save you some strokes most ikely as well.

Same thing for the links courses in NW England and Scotland -- the caddies there are good for saving a fair number of strokes (and more than a few golf balls, as well). When I played there this summer on four of the Open Championship courses, plus one non-Open course, the caddies were absolutely essential. In addition, they are just part of the ambiance and flavor of playing links golf (especially the Scottish caddies!).

SteelFiber i110cw for my Cobra Utility iron. Never really liked the feel of the Recoil that came in it. Not sure what it is about mid/mid shafts but they feel pretty dull and lifeless to me (maybe others would use the word "stable"). I love the subtle kick under the hands I feel with the SFs.

I've probably looked at the BGT ZNE Wedge shafts 10 times in the past few days but still am waiting on that purchase...

I've never encountered a course that supplies you caddies. I'm honestly not sure I'd want one. That's like full serve gas, just seems to weird.

A lot of the big resort courses,  Pinehurst, Bandon, Whistling Straits etc have them avilable, some like WS Straits and Bandon where you can't take carts, it's almost essential unless you want to walk and carry your own bag, which I'm way too old for.    I enjoy the expereince, in probably 20 or 30 rounds with a caddie, I've only had one bad one.   And bad I mean, he didnt' know the greens or many of the lines, it was his first week on the job.   He was a nice enough kid just not experienced.

The only time that I had a "kid" as my caddie is when I played at my boss' private club, Huntingdon Valley C.C., and his son, at the time a college student, caddied for me.  He was a great caddie, and knew the course extremely well, having played it hundreds of times, at a minimum.  He was also a multiple Junior Club Champion, so he knew the course well.

... Haha same here and it is a blessing and a curse. Never boring and I don't know the greens like the back of my hand like many regular courses I have played. Just very subtle differences and 2 putts from the same distance 1 foot apart can do 2 different things. Some days when my ball striking is really on it can be frustrating. I had 7 birdie makable putts today and only made 3. Some days I make more and some days I don't make any. I remember one round where I had 6 lip outs and all of them with good speed and a goose egg for birdies. I will say this, every round is interesting.

i need to learn how to keep the same putter in my bag.  I did it for a few years, but different putters became too much of a temptation.

I went back to my old Yes! Tracy. I’ve had the thing over 15 years, and until I went off on a mallet experiment 18 months ago, never had reason to change.

Ignorance might truly be bliss. All those years ago, I never realized something which dawned on me two weeks ago. The Tracy is a face balanced blade, which seems to be a pretty rare thing to find in a LH putter. I don’t know whether all my new found “knowledge” has hurt me or helped me. It seemed I putted best when I didn’t have a clue about toe hang, swing arc and whatever…

Naturally I refuse to leave well enough alone. This winter will be spent trying to decide on whether to buy a Scotty Newport 2.0 or a Seemore mini giant. Why? I couldn’t tell you… 🤷‍♂️

Forgot to mention - also bought a new weight kit for my Scotty 5.5 and man has it made a difference.  I've had so much better speed control lately and 3 putts have really diminished.  A bit afraid that it's the newness more than the actual different weight making a difference, but time will tell.

Based on your experience I would say yes.   Have people cancelled or refused to sell when an auction closed...yes.     You could complain to eBay but probably wouldn't accomplish much.

I just tried a 5.5 today for the first time, and it blew me away. Right now I’m thinking I might go with it instead of the Newport 2.0 or mini giant I talked about yesterday.

I’m thinking a 33.5” with a black matador midsize grip. I believe that if you order under 34” you get 40 g weights? (30g for 34” and 20g for 35 and up, but I’m not sure.)

Anyway, did you go lighter, or heavier, and what did the weights cost?
