Just picked up a 100 orange plastic tees. Had a bunch of wooden orange tees but I just didn't like them. Weird, huh?

Ordered a Jaws Raw 60 X grind from CPO a couple degrees flat. Reading about the X grind intrigued me, and i've had my LW for 4 or 5 years i think (at least), so it was time. It's served me well

Also picked up 3 dozen of the Z star diamonds. I've flip flopped between the Z star and the XV, so excited to see how i like this ball. Srixon has also turned me into a fanboy because of their affordable premium balls. Can pretty much find them on sale year round, or at least stock up when they run their deals.

Agreed, they have great options. I'm trying Q Star tour currently to see if I want a softer compression around the greens and $35 doz in DSG was fine. My dad wants to try slightly firmer than the Bridgestone e12 contact he plays so I gave him a sleeve. He commented on how cheap the Srixion soft feel is, $23.99 doz and with Bridgestone raising price recently he is shopping around. I gave him a bunch of found balls to see if he likes one. I think TM soft response might fit him, but also the soft feel.

How'd you feel standing over it? I hit a OL hybrid at my fitting for the Cobra's and it just felt off. Did I hit lasers? Yes.

I stopped by Lowe's today and found a dog toy similar to what is used with the ProSendr. We then stopped at Wal-Mart and I got a lanyard to keep me from losing it. I give the lanyard bonus points for being Snoopy.

I'm really hoping this'll help with the short game. I have only swung it a couple of times in the yard to make sure the length is right and it seems to be. Now I've just got to figure out a better way to connect the lanyard to it, right now it's just clipped to one of the little string thingys that held the bar code on. I'm thinking of using a zip tie.

I had a rubber ball for a while but it was just a bit too big. I think it's a fairly decent pick up for $10.

Well I bit the bullet last evening and ordered a Callaway Rogue Max Ls last night on Callaway pre-owned in like new condition. Everything I have seen from others who have bought from the said they still have the wrapper on them. I will see. I couldn't beat the deal coming in at under 300 bucks compared to around 600 for a new Paradym. I think with the money I save I'm going to put it towards a good range mat to practice at home.

I used it quite a bit in our league match last night. 185-200 is a big hole for me in my bag; more than a 5i/less than a 4w.

I hadn't really got much practice with it but figured it can't be too bad.

My first shot with it I had about 230 to a green that is a good 40 feet below me. I think I put the ball too far forward in my stance but I hit it well and it drew around the corner and rolled up onto the green leaving me a 20 foot eagle putt. I was stunned.

Used it a couple of times after that but I think I need to move the ball a bit further back than I do with a normal hybrid as I was moving it left a little too much.

So far so good!

I got a steal on some Titleist 690 CB forged irons. Maybe from the early 2000s?  Absolutely beautiful and feel amazing. I 100% believe they play as good as the current titleist forged CB model for $1200. 4-PW stiff for $120 shipped!  Got them as a back up set to my New Level 623s, but they are fighting for the starting spot!

I had purchased a Driver and a 3 Wood years ago, "like new" still had the wrapper on mine.  I scan that site from time to time as well.  i also recommend keeping an eye out on the site in October/November, they had a BOGO years back.

Well, I went to a fitting for Srixon.  I am in love with their irons.  While I couldn't be drug away from any of my Titleist woods or driver, I did switch out my ZX5 for the new MKII ZX5/ZX7 combo set.  5 and 6 in the ZX5 and 7-PW in the ZX7.  Measurements were taken on Trackman and we were on an outdoor range.

For shafts, I tested the Nippon Modus 120, DG X100 (my current gamer) and the Project X LZ 6.5.  Clubhead speed with 7 iron was between 94 and 98.  Launch angles were within 2* of one another on all shafts.  But spin, height and carry all told the story.

DG was the highest spin (400 higher than LZ and 600 higher than Modus).  It was also the lowest launching and lowest overall peak height.  The Modus had the highest launch angles and LZ was barely below it.  Descent was the best with LZ, so it matched my angle of attach which was -4.7.  The Modus wanted to constantly go left (felt very weak).  The LZ was very easy to control and I felt the head all through the swing.  I could also hit my straight to fade with it just like my DG.   It also provided a lot more feel and "kick" when snapping back into the ball. So the LZ 6.5 was the best performer for me.

The new ZX5 head felt firmer than my old ones and they had more of a muted clicky sound to them.  The ZX7 felt like my old MP14's back in the day. They had a tremendous feel and caught one slightly heavy and only lost 4 yards. Love the reduced offset look and topline of the MKII over my older ZX5.  I am very excited. to see how my first tourney goes with them.  Difference in distance between the ZX7 and ZX5 was 4 yards.  So I had them strengthen the loft of the 7-PW so my distances will stay the exact same as my ZX5's.  I have my long clubs and wedges set up for these yardages.

The most underrated and underappreciated irons, bar none.

I think you're going to really like these for a long long time. Congrats!

I still find it hard to believe that there aren't more people on tour playing the Srixon irons.  I know they don't like to switch at all, but crap...I have tried other clubs and just love them.  I played MP14's, MP33's, J33's from Bridgestone and a couple of others and these are up there with any front line Titleist, Bridgestone or Mizuno iron.

I played the 785s for a while and I'll admit they were a little outta my league at the time but I really liked them.

I've played a lot of them like you - Titleist, Ping, Callaway, Mizuno (current), Cobra - and the Srixon are some of the best feeling clubs I've ever hit.

80 (!) percent of MGS staff - who get to test virtually every club - put these in the bag...

Pretty happy with my MP54 right now but when I'm ready to make the switch these are my number one go to.

I still find it hard to believe that there aren't more people on tour playing the Srixon irons.  I know they don't like to switch at all, but crap...I have tried other clubs and just love them.  I played MP14's, MP33's, J33's from Bridgestone and a couple of others and these are up there with any front line Titleist, Bridgestone or Mizuno iron.

... I think most are a little turned off by the large blade size and thicker top lines. Srixon makes great irons no doubt but setting the ZX5/7's next to J33's/MP33's would look like a night and day difference. That said, if the visuals don't bother you, hard to beat them!

I still have my I-701s and they are still some of the best feeling irons I've ever hit. Srixon makes great irons for sure. The only reason I switched was just that I wanted new clubs after 15 years. And to @chisag's point, those 701s are fairly big from a visual standpoint, but on pure feel, they are incredible.

Went to Ross and found a Puma Volition polo on sale and picked it up. Thought I might want the appropriate outfit for the Cobra Challenge. 20230602_170739-01.jpeg.19b61f8f04aff8bdace6fe587170a9ac.jpeg

Well, shoot.  I might have to stop by my local Ross and see if I can't find something similar!

@sirchunksalot  The only downside to me shopping at Ross or TJ Maxx is that most of the clothing doesn't come in my body type, lol.  Supposedly the tight shirt/skinny pants look is about over, but you'd never know it shopping there.  The oversized/baggy look that I grew up in is a fat man's dream! 😂
