I have played so many DI type irons and the Cobra might be one of the most versatile of all I have played only beat by the DHY. You know how the first time you hit a club it can leave a lasting impression? I drove a 310 yd par 4 the very first time I hit my King Utility. Conditions were dry and fast in LA and I landed right on the 100yd marker, a big concrete square in the middle of the fairway. Ball probably bounced 15ft in the air LOL and I had to apologize to the guys on the green because those using a driver wait for the green to clear. But carrying it 210 and the middle of the fairway was love at first hit for me. ... Good luck with yours! That's definitely encouraging. As a Cobra fanboy I always seem to have at least 1 Cobra club in play. I still can't find a 3 wood that feels, sounds, and performs better than my F6. With a Diamana Kai'li 80g it's a perfect pairing. It only plays about 15 yds behind my 8.5° sim MAX but it's silly straight and very workable when I don't need as much distance. Just some quick numbers with the monitors at PGATSSwith the stock shaft, I was hitting some nice low laser beam shots with the UDI carrying an avg of 223 yds with about 9 yds of roll at 19.5°. I put a graphite shaft with little looser torque setting and a softer tip section with +.5" length added. I'm hoping to squeeze a few more yds out while increasing spin a hair and maybe even find a little more height. I'll find out if my formula pays off tonight when I take it back to test. 3 Quote STZ 10.5* / Fujikura MotoreX F1 6X F6 3 Wood 14* / Fujikura MotoreX F3 6S G400 7 Wood RAZR X Muscleback Irons/FCM Precision 6.5 Rifle TSW Wedges - 50/6 + 56/12 EAS 1.0 / Grip master 2.0 TP5x

Cblade 16
Because I'm on a budget with two daughters in the university and one in a private h.s. I buy component and used clubs. I recently bought a component 4 wood head, and 4 hybrid and shafts from Monark to add to my 7 wood. I also picked up a decent Ping O-blade for $25 on ebay. I am building a long driver that I had sitting around and hope to get to 125 mph to use on a few holes on my home course. The rest of the time my 4 wood will be my tee off club.

With friends, finding beauty in places we always don't look. There is an appreciation for 90's and 2000's gear that I grew up with and occasionally, they drop releases that I cannot resist. I am thinking of going back to something more forgiving as my iron play is easily the weakest part of my game. Kinda feeling over the i500s right now plus at that price I could get them with MMTs, which are too light but sell those, get a heavier graphite option in there an get things close to a wash. Anyone know how forgiving the new 0211s are? I have owned both the ‘19 and ‘21 versions, and they were two completely different sets as far as lofts. The new ones are much stronger lofted. The most common comps you’ll find are the TM 790 and somewhere between the Ping i and G series. Personally I thought the forgiveness and distance claims were overrated, as I found them nowhere near a G series iron, and had difficulty getting high enough launch with them. The 0311 XPs are a much better fit for me. For a player at your level they’re tough to beat though. I’d bet you’ll probably love them, they were just a little too much club for me. EDIT I just got all caught up in this thread, and see you went with Mizuno. The Tour Soft was my winter ball last year, and the ProV1x was my summer ball. I am wondering if the Tour Speed could be the ball I play all year. The Tour Speed is a nice ball, but I won't be playing it this winter. My wife received a sleeve of balls as swag for playing in a Walla Walla Veterans tournament last week; Callaway Warbird 2.0 with their logo... appropriate ball for the logo!! I tried them this week and was really impressed for a 2-piece ball. It gives me a much higher ball flight which I need, and with it more distance than I hit a PV1x. Surprisingly, around the green it has enough spin for my short game. Just ordered 2 dozen. Hope they work well when it gets cold outside. 3 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

The Warbird 2.0 has the HEX dimple pattern as the other HEX offerings from Callaway. The difference I noticed is that the Warbird 2.0 is much firmer, but not clicky. I found that the HEX Soft ball is 35 compression and the Warbird 2.0 is 90. What I haven't found is the difference between the Warbird 2.0 and the original Warbird. 1 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Sweet! I played with a guy playing a 975D and the EI70 shaft. Says he bought it about 10 yrs ago and hasn't found anything better. Too much shaft for his swing as well as needing a more forgiving head but he was happy with his driver and that counts for something. I told him how this was THE set up back in the day until Graphite Design YS7/6 move up a flex and installed 1.5" only took over as the Hot Setup. Nobody was offering after market shafts in their drivers Titleist started stocking the 975D with the EI70 and elite player could buy the EI70 Tour played by DLIII.
