On a more serious note than my other putter posts in the last few days, i am excited about being able to more specifically get fit for putter head material (carbon steel vs stainless) combined with milling options. have never had the opportunity to get to this level of fitting before using the same head style made by a single OEM but with the different options.

Earlier this year I tried my hand at replacing ferrules. My first attempt was on a wedge. It didn’t particularly go as planned. I was able to pull the head and clean things up quite easily enough. Then all hell broke me loose. But I learned. I forgot to mark the shaft in order to return to the correct position. I didn’t dry fit the ferrule. I prepped the epoxy, applied epoxy to the shaft, inserted the shaft into the ferrule and after partial insertion it got stuck. I tried pushing it further with the club head which pretty much slightly mushroomed the ferrule. Panic set it at this point and I grabbed a pair of channel lock pliers and brute forced the ferrule on and then was able to get the club head on. Then set it to dry without properly aligning the shaft. While the job was complete it was not aesthetically pleasing to me. Apart from misalignment of the shaft with the grip logo off at an odd angle, bits of epoxy on the club head and the shaft sticker looking out of place, the ferrule had lovely plier teeth marks in it. They didn’t buff out.
Fast forward to Matt dropping the club in a box, going to UPS and shipping it to Jim @McGolf to make it right. The club has a now safely home in my bag. As usual Jim did a great job and it looks great.

I am drawn to that pinup girl shirt.  If for nothing else to distract my playing partners... haha.  

How is the fit compared to other brands... pretty true?

Caught the salesman stocking shelves at GG during my lunch...

I know you will find this hard to believe, but I went to my local golf shop to swing the Mizuno Pro 221's - and walked out with only a doz. balls.  Now, it is beside the point that if they would have had the shaft I wanted in stock.... this may be a VERY different story.... haha.  Sweet feeling clubs... loved the feel, and the look at address.... 

Now - were they melt like butter soft (as discussed on the other thread re: MP33's)?  Hard to determine inside on the mat and monitor... but they felt goooood.  Mis-hit a few... knew it immediately and the monitor supported my expectations of the poor swing.  But also "pure'd" enough to tell me I could game these tomorrow.  Again, hard to tell on the monitor, and I didn't have my current gamer with me... but even with the more traditional loft of the 221 compared to my current ... the distance was reasonably close to my numbers, and the dispersion was markedly better because I was a "little" more able to work the ball toward my target.  I didn't know I was missing that aspect until I kinda subconsciously adjusted to move the ball left and right and saw my ball flight take a different shape than my current gamer.  

This is definitely a cliffhanger episode of my own personal golf dramedy.
