silver & black
Can someone please tell me how to remove the quick lock spikes from my shoes? I put them in new last year. I used vaseline when I installed them. That doesn't seem to have been worth doing. I always have problems getting them out. What is the secret? hckymeyer
Last time I bought spikes it was a package deal that came with this http://m.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11306150 Works great, much easier than trying to use those two pronged tools that usually come with spikes Driver: SLDR w/ Fujikura Ventus Black 3w: '16 M2 hl w/ Diamana D+ 82 5w: Launcher HB w/ HZRDUS Yellow Hybrid: 22 deg. apprenti23
You HAVE to let your spikes soak in water for about five to ten minutes. Put em in the utility tub or kitchen sink with enough water to just cover the soles. I'm serious. Once you do this, you'll be dumbfounded as to why you never thought of it before. You don't need special tools anymore.
silver & black
Thank you. I'll try the water thing. If that doesn't work, I'm off to purchase the Ripper!
RookieBlue7
I soaked some in some TW14's in warm water and they tore with the tool. Ended up using needle nosed pliers to get them out so I could put the metal center stud soft spikes in tjem In The BagDriver: TaylorMade M2 (2017) w/ Project X T1100 HZRDUS Handcrafted 65x Strong 3 wood: Taylormade M1 15* w/ ProjectX T1100 HZRDUS handcrafted 75x3 Hybrid: Adams PRO 18* w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"4 Hybrid: Adams PRO 20* (bent to 21*) w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"4-AW: TaylorMade P770 w/ Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Black Onyx S400 SW: 56* Scratch Tour Dept(CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold SpinnerLW: 60* Scratch Tour Department (CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold SpinnerXW: 64* Cally XForged Vintage w/ DG X100 8 iron tiger steppedPutter: Nike Method Prototype 006 at 34"Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. Kenny B
The spikes on my wife's shoes were worn down pretty far, and the shoes were a little shoddy but she loves them and wanted new spikes. The last time they were changed we were in Phoenix a few years ago and Dick's changed them for the price of the spikes. This time we went to our local golf store and she took them in to get new spikes, not knowing which kind to get. The guy who runs the place took the shoes and tossed them in the garbage can saying: "This is how we change those." And sold her a new pair of Footjoy LoPros!! “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
fozcycle
I changed the spikes in my Dryjoy Tours last night. No Probs getting them out, but didn't have the same spike, so I put Black Widows in. RookieBlue7
The problem with the tri-lock/q-lock is they tend to get harder as they get older and that results in the Tabs not wanting to release in the tri-lock design as easily coming back out. Put them in and take them right back out no problem, but for some reason that design doesn't like to be work for 3-6 months then be twisted back out. Only spike I've ever had a problem with binding. Half the time the holes tear and rip and you end up using pliers to twist them oit In The BagDriver: TaylorMade M2 (2017) w/ Project X T1100 HZRDUS Handcrafted 65x Strong 3 wood: Taylormade M1 15* w/ ProjectX T1100 HZRDUS handcrafted 75x3 Hybrid: Adams PRO 18* w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"4 Hybrid: Adams PRO 20* (bent to 21*) w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"4-AW: TaylorMade P770 w/ Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Black Onyx S400 SW: 56* Scratch Tour Dept(CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold SpinnerLW: 60* Scratch Tour Department (CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold SpinnerXW: 64* Cally XForged Vintage w/ DG X100 8 iron tiger steppedPutter: Nike Method Prototype 006 at 34"Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. apprenti23
This is probably why they recommend you change them after every ten rounds of golf... What a shitty product...

I ended up using needle nose pliers to get the out. At least the stinger design allows a good purchase with the pliers. They sure do go in a hell of a lot easier than getting them out.
