Which sport do you like to play besides Golf?

Hey Guys!!! I am curious to know what all of you like to play besides Golf. I like to play Snooker what about you?

Baseball. Now that i'm getting older though and the shoulder doesn't always cooperate I guess softball.

In my early years...  raced cars, sailing, basketball, slo and fast pitch softball, volleyball.  Didn't play golf.  

 

In my later years...  There's something to play besides golf?

That kid can flat-out play!  Glad my team won't be seeing him again since he declared for the draft.

 

As for me, I was gifted with the athletic talent of a coffee pot.  Golf is the only sport I was ever even decent at.  I could probably have tried football when I was younger, but golf was played in the fall as well and I wanted to play golf.

Used to play hockey for my college team. After I moved to the low deserts in Arizona I left my equipment at home. I got into racquetball a few months ago but the gym was too expensive to keep going to. 

I'll play just about anything to get a workout in.

Played D1 baseball and football in my younger years and continued to play baseball, softball and flag football until my mid-30s.  Father time and 15 knee surgeries have caught up to me so I play a few slow pitch softball tournaments a year and compete in a few home run derbies as well.  I gave up flag football after I hit ten knee surgeries and now I am relegated to coaching my son's team and running drills with them.

Golf is pretty much it, these days.  Don't even target shoot as much as I used to, since some houses got built "downrange" from my place - lol

Not yet since 38 is a bit too young to have it done.  If it was an option for me I would have my left one done tomorrow and I would be back to playing ball in six months.

I think they will let you replace them around 40 now but you aren't aloud to run afterwards. At least that's what a client of mine was telling me.

 

Also I feel your pain on giving up ball, this is my first year not playing either college or semi pro baseball.

When I had mine replaced 18 months ago, the Doc said they were good for 25 years;  longer than I need!!

If I am running you better look for the guy chasing me as it never was my thing nor will it ever be my thing.  I had a rule when I played football that something was getting hit if I had to run more than 15 yards.  

 

Not playing ball has been tough for me.  I played in college leagues for several years after I graduated and played modified fast pitch softball and slow pitch on travel teams and state tournaments.  When that became too much I played in some rec leagues just to play and then that got to be too much.  I can still swing the bat like I am in my early 20's just have no wheels at all to get around and I am a liability defensively pretty much anywhere these days.  I still walk most of the time when I play golf and started taking my pup for walks in the mornings which has seemed to help a bit, but running or anything that is not low impact just kills me and I am laid up for a few days.

My knees have been getting progressively worse the last few years but nothing near that bad. I haven't been cut on though. Tore my lateral miniscus in my left knee but that's not that big of deal anymore. I gave up tournament/travel softball this year as well as semi pro baseball. Still play men's league bc a bunch of guys who played with me in college play. Its a blast but I just want to see if I have any real potential to be good at golf this year. I rarely get to play golf other than the weekends so any spare practice time would be useful. Playing on 3 softball teams, and a baseball team didn't allow me that. Lol

What about church or mens league and getting a runner after you get to first? You could also catch if you are worried about being mobile for defense.

Not the worst idea but I get competitive and end up playing 3rd base or the outfield after two innings.  I usually refuse to get a runner but the sad fact is that any ball that does not go out is pretty much just a long single.

I can understand that but I will take a runner any day and I run decent lol. That and a single in softball is just as good as anything else. As long as you can continue to add baserunners.

I recently retired from soccer (25 year career) and I needed a competitive outlet so I was talked into joining a competitive Kickball league.

 

So far I've had an immense amount of fun and enjoyment in it.  It's not super physically demanding but people really get into it.
