Would love to see anyone there that feels like swinging clubs. I also got my Wilson Staff Duo in the mail today, so I am looking forward to getting my first round under my belt with the new balls. Would like to get others impressions of the as well. Will be playing them against my normal choice as well. Txstcatman Posted June 6, 2015 Share Posted June 6, 2015 How was the round at Shadowglen? Our scramble was fun. Played with older guys from our business office at work. Shot -9 gross, and won 3rd place for Net (16 hcp as a team). The format was fun as they had some holes where you could basically buy a birdie/eagle shot. Par 3 hole was an instant birdie, in case none of your team made a hole in one. Par 5 had a "monster drive" which put you past the dogleg and 200 out laying 0. Hit my 18* hybrid about 8yd past in the right, chipped it close, and we carded eagle. Love the Lions Club tournaments in the area. They're usually fun and money always goes to great causes. Oh, so yea, the DUO Skin is pretty long (so far based on today). A straight away par 5 was playing 500 from the blues (tees were split by age, I played blue, 2 guys whites, 1 gold). Hit my SLDR/Tour AD BB combo with the test ball and left the group with 215. No wind helping the first time around and I just nutted it. That'd normally be a mid-summer drive for me (and I'd be happy with it any day of the year), but this course wasn't totally baked out after the Memorial Day rains/floods yet. Looking forward to putting it to test on a course with better greens. I play there often and only par it 50% of the time, something about that hole that does not fit my eye. #6 is a fun little hole, I put a $hitload of spin on my ball so I have to tone it down a little or it zips off the green..... jdiddyesquire Posted June 8, 2015 Share Posted June 8, 2015 I play there often and only par it 50% of the time, something about that hole that does not fit my eye. #6 is a fun little hole, I put a $hitload of spin on my ball so I have to tone it down a little or it zips off the green..... Let me know if you join..... you get a free box of Pro V's during your tour ? Haha. I hit two tees shots. First with a 52* that fell just short and right (blue tees), second one with a PW that hit the trunk of the tree behind the green and bounced back on. Bit more than a 5* gap difference in those two shots for some reason. No, wasn't the official "tour". We'll get that this week or next weekend.
