Fleeter
the Open should be a great tourney. I just hope that the way the course is set up that it rewards skill. Too many times the hard fairways and insane pin placements lean more toward lucky plays than good skilled shots. An amazing looking track Chambers Bay is though! Can't wait to see what unfolds in this year's tourney!

tscdave
I surfed to the Golf Channel last night in anticipation. The course looks stunning, with the undulations and Bay backdrop. I'm looking forward to a great contest of mind and skill vs nature. They were saying the greens are hard as rock by afternoon. Dave
two-ball
It's great to see all of Phil's preparation paying off early. It would be fun to see Phil and Rickie battling to the end on Sunday.
gymflake
This is my second favorite Major to watch and I was very excited when I learned where it was going to be held. US Open's are already tough and this one will be a beast! Who ever handles the missed shots the best will win. I love to listen to all the "golf shows" to hear who they predict and very, very seldom get it right! I will be streaming it so I can see all of the shots, both good and bad and how they players deal with them. We have a course near me, "Rustic Canyon" and was designed with the very roots of the game in mind. The lay of the land. If you really want to test your game, find a course like this and go for it. apprenti23
I absolutely love the traditions that are rooted deeply within our game. I kind of liken the US Open to the Super Bowl (not viewership b/c the masters is probably closer but in terms of the stage). Honestly, think about it, how many of us could qualify to play in the Super Bowl? What'd they have 9k applicants? 22 got in? Incredibly small margin; however, to be able to have an opportunity to compete with all of the greats is absolutely incredible. That is something you can not find in any other sport. I liken it to setting picks for Lebron in the NBA Finals or catching passes from Tom Brady in the Super Bowl. Just absolutely incredible. Probably my favorite thing about the US Open. mikalsaurus
I have never been more torn for deciding a winner for this tournament... However I believe that there will not be a new rising star to come from this weekend. Not because of the abilities of these players, but because of the course. The fairways bounce like asphalt and the greens are quick as quick can be. This leads me to believe that these guys have to be creative this week. I'll be glued to the T.V. all weekend and probably be yelling a lot more than I should at the little white ball!
