I'm curious where this year's Fairway Wood test is... last year done in May - this year July's coming around & nothing???

Anyone know anything?

Thanks.

I've emailed staff a couple different times if they are doing one in 2016 but have yet to get a response. I value their reviews/testing more than any others out there and would especially like to see numbers on the LTD and F6 fairway woods...

I'm very much in need of a new fairway wood, so I'd love to see what people think of the previous year's woods. My money's on the Callaway XR getting good numbers.

Driver: Cobra F9 Speedback (9.0) with Fujikura Atmos 7X (Avalanche White)

3 Wood: Callaway Epic Sub-Zero (15 degrees) in Rogue Max 75g stiff shaft

Hybrid: Callaway Apex 20 degree with Kurokage 80g Stiff Shaft

Irons: Wilson Staff CB 4-PW in KBS 120 Stiff shafts

Wedges: Titleist Vokey SM6 - 50

              Callaway MD4 - 56 & 60 degrees

Putter: Taylormade TP Collection Soto

Golf Ball: Titliest Pro V1 and Srixon Z-Star

I've yet to try any of the current Taylormade range (ignoring the drivers - love the M1!), but I tried the Aeroburner from last year - that was stupid long!! I was hitting it 260-270yd!

the cobra f6 is also a great one, the best feature is that you can adjust the loft and trajectory.

I'm not a fan of the current Cobra line-up, mainly due to the Fly-Z being a bit better for my particular swing, and I just prefer the look of the Fly-Z over the F6 (don't know why). TM, Callaway, Wilson & Titleist all have fairways that have adjustable lies and trajectories.

I've yet to try the King fairways but I don't know about the spaceport thing on the bottom. I'll try and do a bit of a mega-test for fairways (and irons) later in the year.

I've found a potential replacement for my fairway wood the other day at a local golf store - a Callaway XR Pro 16 degree with a Project X 6.0 shaft.

I'm a big fan of the PING G driver, but I don't like the fairway woods and hybrids. I think the shafts aren't quite heavy/stiff enough for me due to my swing plane. Shame too, as I really wanted to like those clubs.

I've done a few mini-tests with the M2 and XR16, and pitted both against my current fairway. There was no real difference in length between the XR16 & M2, but my Big Bertha was about 10yd longer on average off the mat. I know that the 3HL version of the M2 is a beast (275yd off a mat??), but it's difficult to find and is almost too long. For now, I think I'll stick with my current fairway and worry about buying a new driver for the upcoming season.
