mulliganman
I'm curious where this year's Fairway Wood test is... last year done in May - this year July's coming around & nothing??? Anyone know anything? Thanks. I've emailed staff a couple different times if they are doing one in 2016 but have yet to get a response. I value their reviews/testing more than any others out there and would especially like to see numbers on the LTD and F6 fairway woods...
mdumble21
I'm very much in need of a new fairway wood, so I'd love to see what people think of the previous year's woods. mdumble21
Taylor made M2 is crazy long Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app I've yet to try any of the current Taylormade range (ignoring the drivers - love the M1!), but I tried the Aeroburner from last year - that was stupid long!! I was hitting it 260-270yd! mdumble21
I'm not a fan of the current Cobra line-up, mainly due to the Fly-Z being a bit better for my particular swing, and I just prefer the look of the Fly-Z over the F6 (don't know why). TM, Callaway, Wilson & Titleist all have fairways that have adjustable lies and trajectories. I've yet to try the King fairways but I don't know about the spaceport thing on the bottom. I'll try and do a bit of a mega-test for fairways (and irons) later in the year. I've found a potential replacement for my fairway wood the other day at a local golf store - a Callaway XR Pro 16 degree with a Project X 6.0 shaft. mdumble21
I'm a big fan of the PING G driver, but I don't like the fairway woods and hybrids. I think the shafts aren't quite heavy/stiff enough for me due to my swing plane. Shame too, as I really wanted to like those clubs. mdumble21
I've done a few mini-tests with the M2 and XR16, and pitted both against my current fairway. There was no real difference in length between the XR16 & M2, but my Big Bertha was about 10yd longer on average off the mat. I know that the 3HL version of the M2 is a beast (275yd off a mat??), but it's difficult to find and is almost too long. For now, I think I'll stick with my current fairway and worry about buying a new driver for the upcoming season.
