fozcycle
Just received an email this morning about the MG M400 Laser Rangefinder. They have reduced it from $150 to $130. And... it's now available in white as well as the black model. This is a good device/deal fellows. Edit: Unless you just feel like you have to have a Bushnell or other famous brand of rangefinder or want to spend $200, $300, or more this RF does a great job. Just saying. I am really liking my MG M400. revkev
Does it have jolt technology? I'm not in the market. My V3 is still fine and I'm testing Busnell's latest and greatest but for a guy like me jolt technology would be the most important feature. PlaidJacket
I like my SkyCaddie and use it more than my MG400 Rangefinder. The reason I say that is because most of my golf is played on my home course which I know well. Therefore a Front, Middle, Back read is usually all I need to know. SC support if you need them is crap and I'd probably not purchase another one. I do like my MG400 a lot and used it as needed. Don't be shy about buying this great little Rangefinder. It's a good one. mcavoy
What I'm happy to see is basic LRF technology finally get down to a reasonable price level. i have a Leupold GX-1 and paid $299 for it in 2010. It was worth it and it still works well. But it is well past time for that basic tech (and maybe this is even superior) to trickle down to that price point. Hope everyone is enjoying theirs. Opened with great anticipation for my new look- into-the-future-no-guessing-yardage-thingy. Not disappointed at all. Looks very nice and fits hand very well and quite accurate (I just need it somewhere on the green..lol) when I get better I can see a great advantage to having this golf tool. I will not post any pics as those here already here do it justice. I chose the white option for no particular reason just looked nicer to me. If anyone is on the cliff about ordering I recommend to go ahead: ordering was easy, arrived on time and was very easy to track per the company (MG) and can't beat the price. $119.95 compared to $$$$$$ more for pretty much the same thingy. PlaidJacket
After all the crowing I've done about the MG-400 Laser Rangefinder mine has developed a problem. While looking at a target the display has malfunctioned to some degree. For example, when shooting a pin at 150 yds. I seen 15F. Or so it appears. What it really seems like is the number on the right of the display is faded out to some extent. 225 yds. would look like 22F. 50 yds. would be 5F. To be more precise the F I'm seeing might just be a faded number but it looks like an F many times. My unit has never been dropped (except maybe on grass) or expose to water, etc. and I've replaced the battery with a fresh one. No luck. This morning I contacted MG Golf and I'll send it to them for inspection. The person I spoke with said they might be able to fix it or perhaps replace it. Worst case is I just buy an new one. The lady I spoke with said if unrepairable I might also receive a discount if I have to replace it. Mine was purchased in July of 2015. We'll see. PlaidJacket
808, I use a GPS also. But, when I'm playing my Laser RF stays out of the case in my pushcart net or in a cup holder in a clubcar cart. Kenny B
@PlaidJacket - Sorry to hear about your laser. Hope they can fix it. I would have probably got one based on the recommendations by you and Foz, but Martha got me a Bushnell V3 for Christmas two years ago. I don't use it a lot, but she does! @808nation - I bought a Golf Buddy Tour many, many years ago and have had zero problems with it. I use it every day. Battery still is very good; I know I can get 2 rounds out of it, maybe 3, without recharging, but I usually put it on the charger after each round. I like the GPS because I can just glance at it while walking or riding and know the distance to cover the front and not go off the back. I know my course so well now that the GPS is all I really need. The laser is nice though, especially when Martha gets out of the cart and lasers the pin for me before I pull a club. In almost all cases I have pulled a club before she gives me the yardage, and I rarely change. We use it more when we travel to other courses, but I still always rely on the GPS to know what I need to carry the green but not go off the back. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
PlaidJacket
I was reading the Precision Pro reviews. I believe the Precision Pro and the M400 are the same devices. The PP has a slightly updated case/form factor than my M400 but it's the same unit. Actually if you search for these Rf's you'll find many others that are just like them. I suspect that a company in China makes these and will brand them for you. In other words we could be selling the Kenny B Z-5000 Laser Rangefinder Pro or the Plaid J-200 LRF if we wanted. Nothing wrong with that but that's what these are. I like my M400.
