M400 Laser Rangefinder with PinSeeker Technology by MG Golf

Recommended Posts

Our Sponsors

I like my SkyCaddie and use it more than my MG400 Rangefinder. The reason I say that is because most of my golf is played on my home course which I know well. Therefore a Front, Middle, Back read is usually all I need to know. SC support if you need them is crap and I'd probably not purchase another one. I do like my MG400 a lot and used it as needed. Don't be shy about buying this great little Rangefinder. It's a good one.

Need some redirection....not to long ago I was reading a post on this site pertaining to ...one length clubs vs modern staggered length clubs...can anybody point me in the right direction for this information on our site.  All of my queries have come up with no info, probably not inputting the right keywords (??).

Appreciate to help

Best to all

EDIT:  Found it using...."single length" clubs....gotta love the pressure..LOL

What I'm happy to see is basic LRF technology finally get down to a reasonable price level.  i have a Leupold GX-1 and paid $299 for it in 2010.  It was worth it and it still works well.  But it is well past time for that basic tech (and maybe this is even superior) to trickle down to that price point.  Hope everyone is enjoying theirs.

I found one for $119.95 @ mggolf.com/land..$5.00 shipping + tax (only if you reside in the Lonestar State)....total was $134.01.  Looking forward to my new golf gadget...LOL

Best to all

Just a quick follow up. Package arrived today (USPS). Opened with great anticipation for my new look- into-the-future-no-guessing-yardage-thingy.  Not disappointed at all. Looks very nice and fits hand very well and quite accurate (I just need it somewhere on the green..lol) when I get better I can see a great advantage to having this golf tool.  I will not post any pics as those here already here do it justice.  I chose the white option for no particular reason just looked nicer to me.

If anyone is on the cliff about ordering I recommend to go ahead: ordering was easy, arrived on time and was very easy to track per the company (MG) and can't beat the price. $119.95 compared to $$$$$$ more for pretty much the same thingy.

Just to update you guys... 2 lines from the display have faded away... you can still tell the yardage, but it's not as sharp as it was in the beginning.

Been having mine for about 4 seasons, so I'm fine with that.

Is there a battery that needs to be replaced?

Doesn't seem like it. I just replaced it a couple of months ago. And it's always the same line that is faded...

I can't take it anymore. I am just going to buy this. With your reviews and compared with a $500 bushnell, I think this is the option I have been looking for. Price is back to $150 on their website.

Chem... you'll like it. Even at $150 it's a best buy.

I know you're chomping but I get emails from MG all the time and it goes on sale periodically for a little less.

While you're at it order some MG Tour balls and an Elite glove and see what you think. It's all great stuff.

Thanks Plaid,

I signed up for their email deals. I will wait around a month to see if it goes on sale. I bought the Groovie from them which looks just like the momentus but is only 15 bucks! I loved the momentus.

After all the crowing I've done about the MG-400 Laser Rangefinder mine has developed a problem. While looking at a target the display has malfunctioned to some degree. For example, when shooting a pin at 150 yds. I seen 15F. Or so it appears. What it really seems like is the number on the right of the display is faded out to some extent. 225 yds. would look like 22F. 50 yds. would be 5F. To be more precise the F I'm seeing might just be a faded number but it looks like an F many times.

My unit has never been dropped (except maybe on grass) or expose to water, etc. and I've replaced the battery with a fresh one. No luck.

This morning I contacted MG Golf and I'll send it to them for inspection. The person I spoke with said they might be able to fix it or perhaps replace it. Worst case is I just buy an new one. The lady I spoke with said if unrepairable I might also receive a discount if I have to replace it. Mine was purchased in July of 2015. We'll see.

Good luck with it Plaid. The thing I like about the M400 is at the very worst you are only out $150 (or $130 if you snagged the deal). The Bushnells are $400 bucks. I would hate to misplace or drop one of those.

Sounds like a good deal, I had a Golf Buddy GPS but the battery died recently so I need to do some shopping. The only thing keeping me back with lasers is the time it takes to remove it from the case, point and shoot to get the numbers. My deceased golf buddy gps would give me yardages front, center, and back right out of my pocket with a glance....hmmm

808, I use a GPS also. But, when I'm playing my Laser RF stays out of the case in my pushcart net or in a cup holder in a clubcar cart. If I had to fumble around keeping the LRF in a carry case I'd probably not use it.

BTW, I'm shipping my M400 back to MG Golf on Saturday Oct. 8th.

@PlaidJacket -  Sorry to hear about your laser.  Hope they can fix it.  I would have probably got one based on the recommendations by you and Foz, but Martha got me a Bushnell V3 for Christmas two years ago.  I don't use it a lot,  but she does!

@808nation -  I bought a Golf Buddy Tour many, many years ago and have had zero problems with it.  I use it every day.  Battery still is very good; I know I can get 2 rounds out of it, maybe 3, without recharging, but I usually put it on the charger after each round.  I like the GPS because I can just glance at it while walking or riding and know the distance to cover the front and not go off the back.  I know my course so well now that the GPS is all I really need.  The laser is nice though, especially when Martha gets out of the cart and lasers the pin for me before I pull a club.  In almost all cases I have pulled a club before she gives me the yardage, and I rarely change.  We use it more when we travel to other courses, but I still always rely on the GPS to know what I need to carry the green but not go off the back.

I was reading the Precision Pro reviews. I believe the Precision Pro and the M400 are the same devices. The PP has a slightly updated case/form factor than my M400 but it's the same unit. Actually if you search for these Rf's you'll find many others that are just like them. I suspect that a company in China makes these and will brand them for you. In other words we could be selling the Kenny B Z-5000 Laser Rangefinder Pro or the Plaid J-200 LRF if we wanted. Nothing wrong with that but that's what these are. I like my M400.
