TWshoot67
OK guys I came up with a list of US players off the top of my head who I believe should be having goals for themselves like making the Ryder Cup Team this year. I realize they all can't make it but it would be nice to see their names in the Top 20 to have a chance or atleast mean their playing well. I'm going to list 12 players, you have to pick 8 as your team who would you pick from this list? 1.Hunter Mahan 2.Rickie Fowler 3.Ryan Moore 4.Nick Watney 5.Anthony Kim 6.Brandt Snedeker 7.J B Holmes 8.Sean O'Hair 9.Webb Simpson 10.Steve Marino 11.Dustin Johnson 12.D J Trahan PS: after I came up with these names as I thought these were some of the younger players on the US side, I went to check their ages and to my surprise they all weren't as young as I thought. Rickie at 22. but then it jumps up to, 2-25 yrs. 1-26, 4-28, 1-29 and 3-30 yr.old players. So I really feel these guys need to stand up an be accounted for. what do you guys think? TWshoot67
I know there's some other youngsters I could have mentioned , but I was just trying to name some of the more popular players and see which 8 you would pick if this was the list to pick from. Moecat
If there was to be some new blood in the next US Ryder Cup team, I wouldn't mind seeing Nick Watney, Steve Marino and Dustin Johnson make the cut. I think there would have to be the right blend between those who are steady vs. those who are streaky. Take Anthony Kim ... tons of talent, but definitely runs hot or cold. I agree about AK that he runs hot and cold, but I believe he's what Sergio is to the European team. He just gets up for the Ryder Cup and the team format brings the best out of him. I may be wrong but we will have to wait and see.... Maybe it was a one time thing, but I just have that feeling about AK. Jballmn
Yes, don't forget to add Alex Prugh to the list of young players... Three top ten finishes in 5 events, and already with close to $600k in earnings. All by Valentines day......

Three top ten finishes in 5 events, and already with close to $600k in earnings. All by Valentines day...... I wasn't leaving anyone off the list this was just a made up list off the top of my head. i know there are a few other younger golfers that I could extend the list to 20. But I just wanted everyone to take this list I made and pick 8 players from that list. you can make Alex a "CAPTAINS PICK" if you must have him.... It was all just in fun. PS: Yes Alex Prugh has had an incredible start to the 2010 Season. I agree w/ you 100% Another player that should step up would be Kevin Na. basically I was saying we need some of these better then average younger players to step up like our counter part Europeans youngsters have! I'm hoping Snedeker has more success, I enjoyed watching him at the Masters a couple years ago and was sad to see him fall out of the Tour Championship last season. jamo
I would out Sean O'Hair a little higher on that list (assuming you did it in order of talent). I think he really has the swing and the mindset to win. I don't think we'll see much more 2009 Bay Hill from him. Quote Click here to view all of my scores and stats for the 2010 golf season. THIS LIST was from the TOP of my head as to who is our 30 years of age and under players. There's no order or reason as to how they appear. I just came up with 12 players that I thought were under 30 and listed them like how the RYDER CUP has 12 players. Then I just asked who would you put as your TOP 8 that would get auto bid to make this fantasy team? That's it... it was supposed to be fun LOL!! SPY VIP GolfSpy Dave Posted March 4, 2010 SPY VIP Share Posted March 4, 2010 I am waiting for AK to start lighting it up. I think he really got into a funk last year. But when he is on, it is fun to watch. One of the coolest swings on tour IMO Right there with you. He and Poulter are my favorites to watch. Poulter got the win now AK can get it going. Them head to head in the Ryder would be fantastic. Quote Volvo Intorqueo All the cool kids follow me on twitter: @GolfspyDave If you are not a cool kid, following me on twitter will make you cool... The Golf Hound
Whoever plays in the Ryder cup will need a good pair of waterproofs. October is the wrong month to play golf in Wales.
