How was the round boys? Sorry I missed it. Hopefully we can get something organized in the future.

It was a really good time with fantastic company. We had the course completely to ourselves and it was in excellent shape for this time of year. The weather even cooperated as we didn't need our cold weather gear at all. Ddryan was actually ditching layers as the day went on.

Sorry we didn't hit you up to fill in the foursome. We didn't find out until the morning of that Dilligaf couldn't make it due to his knee.

Yeah, I missed mine as well, after a nifty little pitch shot from the edge of the bunker in the tall grass.   Guess I couldn't handle the pressure...ha

How was the round boys?  Sorry I missed it.  Hopefully we can get something organized in the future.

Good time, good weather (for December 17) good playing partners, and good course conditions.   All in all couldn't beat it.    Didn't even miss watching the Redskins, although that's not hard to do these days.

Course has come a long way since the last time you and VA_Golfer and I were out there.   Service at the bar in the morning for breakfast was excellent.   Overall great day.

Studque played a really solid 18 holes, DDryan bounced back from a disappointing front nine with a solid 39 on the back.  Me....well I gave good instructions on where to aim for each of them....LOL

But overall I was very happy with the 718 irons and for the most part the G30 driver, I think it might be  bit longer in dryer/warmer weather, but guess we'll have to wait a while to see that.

DDryan - did you have a chance to field test either the Shot Scope or the MLA?

Curious as to your initial impressions.

He had both, definitely used the Shotscope during the round, I'll let him comment on that, but from what I saw, it was doing very well.  I think he used the MLA on the putting green, but wanted more time before he put it in play during a round.    STUDque had his test loaner out for the round, and it's a sharp looking putter and he had a very good round.  I don't recall any misses that he had with it.

CK-  I did have both the Shotscope (see my updated review under Shotscope 2.0) and the MLA.  Did not, however, use the MLA because I want to give it a good workout on my home putting green first, get the hang of it before I use it for a round.  I like it (did roll a few on the greens before the round, but greens were slow, wet, and frozen about an inch down, so didn't want to get off to a bad start... do like the feel, but will take a few times on the practice green to get the whole thing sorted out...

Unfortunately, I will not be playing.   With spring coming, I am glad that you made this post.   It bumps this important local thread and I'm glad to see you posting on this site where I now live.  We have got to get together soon.

Cedar Point Golf Club in Patuxent River, MD. That'll be awfully far for you guys so maybe I can come up that way a bit. Once I get my Odyssey, I'll let y'all get some whacks with it.

When I logged into this thread today, it took me to this post like 10 pages ago, which is kinda freaky as I was going to tell you.   The Rogue fitting I had last Thursday the Callaway Tech Rep who I know well from my WRX days mentioned your club tome and said, i need to go play it.   He lives down that way, although not as far as you.

Woe is me. Serious heat coming this way that should make for some great golfing weather but I'll be in a meeting all week. Maybe we'll get lucky next week too.

Rob, that must be destiny. Would be happy to have you down. My course isn't super remarkable like yours but it's a fun track with plenty of challenges.

Carolina, while I hope we will be able to get together long before then, but I will be at your course on June 5th as I have signed up for your MISGA outing.

To my other "seasoned" buds in the Maryland area, I would suggest that you explore participation in MISGA (Maryland Interclub Senior Golf Association).   It's typically rather inexpensive to join.  At my home course, its a $50 fee which includes the provision of a USGA handicap index.  The outings are typically anywhere from $40 to $50 which includes donuts and coffee, carts and green fees, a lunch and some modest clubhouse credit prizes.   I have found that most people are there to play the course, make new friends and have a good time.  If your team wins, you might be able to get a dozen balls with the credits.  Oh yea, what I really like is that we play from the Senior tees.

Since I am in the division that includes Annapolis, we also play some Delaware courses.  MISGA has a web site that will show the participating courses.

Yup. Sounds about right. The par 5s and 3s are reasonable distances but a few of the par 4s can be bears. Especially if you get the wind in the wrong direction.

The wind always plays a pretty big role out there since it changes direction and the holes face every which way.

How do some of you guys feel about a round next Friday (27th) in the Annapolis area? Will need a ride from the dealership but should be able to tee it up sometime between 10-11.

Bay Hills seems to be pretty close. Anybody interested?

GolfSpy STUDque:

I remember last year, we just couldn't get our schedules to fit, but we both expressed our desire and commitment to get a round(s) a golf in together.  As I write this, it seems that I am clean and green for the 27th and look forward to meeting and playing golf with you.   It would be my pleasure to pick you up at the dealership.

I have no problem with Bay Hills, it is the home base for one of my senior associations.  However, before we commit to a venue, let's see if any other spies want to join us.  Again, I have no problem meeting you at the dealership and going to any venue that may be better for anyone that may wish to join in.  Depending on the venue, I trust that you will have no problem if I use the senior tees.

Am I giving pops?   I'm quite sure that we will have a good time because I see that you have a good sense of humor.    Seeing that you play to a 10 and I to an 18, may I suggest that before you drive to Annapolis that you leave Fantasyland :-).

Seriously, I am really looking forward to this!!!!!

I'm going to lock this one up since we have separate threads now  for  the DMV and Philly/NJ areas.  To try and keep the local talk all together.  That's the positive benefit of the site growing, each area getting enough new members to carry it's own conversations.
