Big game today in the SEC!

 

Georgia vs Auburn    It's going to be a head knocking, arse kicking, grind it out kind of day.  No high points scored today and I'm hoping we can slide by Auburn with a win.

Big 12 - only OU has a chance

Big 10 - only Wisconsin has a chance

ACC - Clemson and Miami will decide who gets in

SEC - Bama and UGA will decide who gets in

 

My goodness this is getting good. 

 

Ultimate chaos:

Big 10 - Wisconsin wins out but loses in the championship game. They'll have 1 loss but didn't win their conference. 

SEC - Bama wins out but loses to UGA in the c'ship game. Does Bama get in despite not winning their conference? Or...Auburn beats Bama and UGA...do they get in despite having 2 losses?

ACC - Conference championship game WILL be a CFP quarterfinal. 

Big 12 - So many if's with only OU having a real shot.

I think we're probably looking at Wisconsin, ACC winner, and pick 2 from Alabama/Georgia/Auburn.

 

I just have a hard time seeing OU up there with the teams they play.

Auburn definitely gets in if they beat Bama & UGA again in champ game. Love the fact that rest of SEC is closing talent gap on Bama. LSU and Mstate more than held their own on line, outrushing Bama. Auburn and maybe UGA have QB play to challenge Bama for SEC/playoff spot. Miami vs Clemson will be a great ACC champ game

I think it's Oklahoma over the second Sec team, it's possible that only one of them will have 1 loss, and the others will have 2. So only one of them gets in. There's still some tough games left, so we may have 2 teams with 2 losses get into the playoff.

OU has wins over TCU, Oklahoma St and Ohio St...with two of those on the road. That's 3 Top 15 wins with a possibility of a 4th. That's salty.

Gotta say it's hard to leave off an OU squad who would have at least 3 top 15 wins this year. 4 if TCU cracks the top 15 again before the big 12 championship and the Sooners win. But I'm a bit bias being a sooner fan I suppose. SEC will play out in the next few weeks, hard to see two teams getting out of there. With so much volatility in the SEC why would this year be the first time two from the same conference get in? I Agree that PAC-12 is probably out for sure. Certainly had been an entertaining year!!!

Those 2 early losses will cost them I think, even if they win out. There are some games left for some of the teams with one loss that could potentially allow for a 2 loss team to get in, but then there would be a 1 loss Alabama team that would then be left out, and I don't see the committee allowing that. In order to potentially keep 2 sec teams out and keep 2 acc teams out Alabama needs to win out and so does Miami. This is going to be very interesting g the next 3-4 weeks.

I agree there.Dont see it happening this season.I believe a loss or two is in their future.Still nice to see a program turn around in a positive direction.These type of threads can really turn ugly.Why I really enjoy watching any division I team on the tube.Always loved the college game way more than the pro game

 

Not only in this thread but on facebook too.   I let my red neck come out to a couple of opposing team fans several days ago. Totally uncalled for however my passion overcame my mouth.  It's a frigging game and I will not even remember the score two years from now. Why do we get so riled up against opposing fans?  Anyways I get so invested in my team  winning that I forget  opposing fans are just good ordinary people. They love and have the same passion for their team.....   I need to attend mean ole bastard meetings to resolve my anger issues....

I have my team and stick with them win or lose, I've been a Detroit Lions fan my whole life so I've become accustomed to losing. For the College game, I cheer for Michigan, when it comes to bowl games I cheer for the Big Ten, because when they win it reflects well for the conference. There are teams that I do not want to win, Ever. It's a short list, Notre Dame, Alabama, Florida State. There are other teams I don't care for, but if they win it's not a big deal. This season sucks because as a College football fan I want to see different teams in the final 4, and I want them from different conferences. That means that Alabama needs to win the last couple games in order to eliminate the possibility of having 2 SEC teams in the final 4, I also need Miami to win out as well, to eliminate Clemson from the list, I am afraid that if Clemson wins and it's a close game, they will have 2 ACC teams in, I don't think Oklahoma will have any issues the rest of the way, and I think because of the toughness of the schedule, the Winner of the big ten should get in. I do t think that will happen unless Wisconsin wins out, there's still 2 good weeks of football left, and so many different scenarios, we just have to see what happens. It will good no matter who gets in, and I will watch because I love the game, I just have my wish list, I really do hope the Alabama gets whippped on Saturday, but even if they do, I think they will still get in the final 4.

It's a great day.  Iowa beats Nebraska--in Lincoln.  56-14.  

 

I grew up in Western Iowa and have had to listen to Nebraska fans all my life.  It doesn't matter what happened earlier in the year, beating Nebraska makes it a good year.
