Outside the playoff games it would have been nice to see Georgia play Ohio State but I guess they try to keep the Rose bowl Big 10 vs. PAC 10.

Texas going to a NY6 bowl and could end up with 5 losses at the end of the year.

Michigan vs Flordia might be the lowest scoring game of the bowl season.

Alright, what's your take on guys skipping bowl games to get ready for the NFL? It's one thing if it's a safety, it's another thing when it's a QB or RB.

I am not a fan of guys sitting out bowl games but you can’t really blame them if they are set up to be drafted.

Michigan/Florida is a stupid game. They seem to put them together every other year. I hat that.

Should be a barn burner. The over under is at 79 the last I saw. The highest in the cfb playoff era.

OU can’t stop anyone, but how often can Alabama stop them. 79 could be a pretty low number. Alamaba may put up 60 themselves. Realistically though it could be 50-40 or something like that.  Should be a fun game to watch. The other game could be good as well, ND will be the toughest defense that Clemson has faced, and as long as Book is playing ND has a decent offense, I think it will be much more traditional scoring, like 27-24 or something like that. Both games should be good ones to watch.

I’m not a fan of the current 4 team system, it needs to expand to at least 8 teams. There is something inherently wrong with a UCF team that hasn’t lost a game in 2 years not getting a chance...with a Notre Dame team that didn’t really beat anybody and plays no conference championship game getting a spot....yes I know they beat PITT and Syracuse but neither of them are that good and I think they would lose to UCF(if they hadn’t lost their QB)

It needs to be the Power 5 conference champions, the highest ranking team not in the power 5 and 2 at large picks.

The SEC has a long standing Sugar Bowl contract just as the Big 10 and Pac have the Rose Bowl contracl.

I'm a huge G5 fan and fully wish that we could see what UCF can do.  But the truth is that UCF, while undefeated, is not one of the 4 best teams.  So in the current system, we will NEVER see a G5 school in the playoffs.  Even with expansion to 8, it will be a very tough sell to have a G5 in the mix.  

 

I suggest a 12 team playoff...  where 1-4 all get a bye and the rest are 5/12, 6/11, 7/10, 8/9...  the 10 conference champs are automatically in the mix along with 2 "at large" bids.  Teams are seeded same as now, by the selection committee.  

For 2018, the playoff would look like this:

 

1. Alabama (SEC)  2. Clemson (ACC)  3. Notre Dame (At Large)  4. Oklahoma (Big 12)

 

5. Georgia (At Large)    vs   12. NIU (MAC)  

6. Ohio State (Big 10)  vs  11. UAB (CUSA)

7. UCF (AAC)  vs  10. App State (Sun Belt)

8. Washington (Pac 12)  vs  9. Fresno State (MWC)

 

Quite frankly, I'd love to see this.  Let the 1st round be held at higher seeded teams home stadium and them proceed with the 8 team playoff (higher seed hosts), letting the semi-finals be hosted in the existing bowl format.

Just realize that if they make it 12 then Alabama will never miss a playoff bc I don't see them ever losing more than 3 games until Saban leaves.

Not based on whether Alabama is playing or not, but 8 would be an improvement as well.

It isn't overly surprising. He looks to be in a lot of pain on the sidelines. I do agree with @Undershooter30 that he may get healthier and come out of retirement.

He actually retired a few weeks ago but didn't feel the need to tell school officials. Too soon?

He'll take over at ND in 2020. ND has their own channel and when was the last time you were up at 10pm to watch the start of USC/Washington St?  More $$$ with the Catholics.

I think 8 puts to bed a lot of the complaining. Win a P5 conference, go to the playoffs. Take the best G5 team and then 2 at large teams...preferably ones that lost the conf championship.

I'm honestly fine with 6 or 8. But anything more than 10 would be getting ridiculous. And I'm not sure that 10 isn't too many.

I'm not sure if any of yall have seen this guy's videos but they are hilarious. He's a stand up comic and posts "How Bama fan's watched" each weeks games. I've been watching them for as long as he's been doing them and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. If your an SEC fan I'd think you'd enjoy it. Maybe even non SEC fans. Anywho, thought I would share.
