OceanSands
Please forgive me if this is the wrong area of the forum to post this, or if this topic has been addressed elsewhere, I am a noobie here. I was wondering if any of you have experience with the High Heat driver from the Pope of Slope, Dean Knuth. http://www.knuthgolf.com/ I tend to like things that are "off the beaten path" and this certainly seems like one of them. PlaidJacket
I don't have any experience with the HH driver. But I'd like to. After reading your post Ocean; I went to the site and spent some time reading and looking around. Dean Knuth certainly lends credibility to the club from an engineering standpoint. I assume this is his first attempt at club design. The club looks to have a traditional shape which I like with any club. I expected the driver to be a little less than $400 (actually only a mere $399 + S&H). It's priced right up there with the big boys. I do like the 30 day money back guarantee. If I were considering buying one I'd have to have some discussion with them regarding shafts. Kenny B
If I remember correctly, I think wbealsd bought the High Heat when he tried it at the 2015 PGA Show in Orlando this year. I think it was a love-hate-love relationship, so I am not sure where he is on it right now. He hasn't been on the forum much lately, so you might give him a PM. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
GolfSpy Barbajo
I was with Bill at the PGA show - he was quite taken with High Heat. I hit it as well and spoke with the guys at the booth. By that time I had hit so many clubs my arms were dragging, so I couldn't give you any kind of evaluation. Might be worth a flow up 😎 What's in the bag: Driver: TSR3; DynaPWR Carbon FW Wood: DynaPWR 3-wood; TSR 2+ Hybrids: PXG Gen4 18-degree Utility Irons: ZX MkII 20* Irons:; 699/699 Pro V2 Combo; D9 Forged; MT86 (coming soon!); VIP 1025 V-Foil MB/CB; Wedges: RTX6 Zipcore Putter: HB Soft Milled 10.5; Newport Special Select; Willamette, BB8; 8802; MATI Monto Ball: Tour B RXS; Z-STAR Diamond; Triad Stat Tracker/GPS Watch: Follow @golfspybarbajo
wbealsd
Sorry I haven't been online much lately, but I just noticed this post. After playing both the High Heat/Fujikura Pro and my Titleist/Paderson combo side by side, I've basically "finished the season" with the Titleist/Paderson setup. That's not to knock the High Heat, by any means. I just feel the Titleist/Paderson combo fits me best. The High Heat launched very straight but was launching higher than I'd like and gave me less total distance than the Titleist/Paderson combo. I pulled the Fuji Pro shaft and put it in a Titleist adapter to compare it with the Paderson and the Paderson is simply a better shaft for me, although probably not with the High Heat, since my Titleist is lofted at 9.75* and the High Heat is 10.5* and non-adjustable. I may give the High Heat another try next season with a lower launching shaft. OceanSands
Ok - Thank you for the responses! I pulled the trigger and placed my order. I will not receive it until I arrive in Florida on Oct 26th, so my 30 days will start then. I currently have the Bombtech Grenade/Matrix HD Radix S VI which I like a lot. I have no idea why I need another driver LOL. I just started playing about 2 years ago and am 68. I average about 210 with the Grenade although I have hit it 245 occasionally. It is usually straight but I can slice it or push it if I try too hard. I keep the face of my Grenade clean so I can see where each hit occurs, I find that helps me tune my setup to try to get more sweet spot hits. Should be easy to keep clean with the High Heat. I am still at that stage, you probably all went through it, where I think I can buy a better game. I think you can to a certain extent, I know I do better with the Grenade than I have with some of my other drivers.
Kenny B
Yep! You are just like the rest of us. Good luck with the High Heat; I remember that it looked pretty good from the pictures that the guys posted from the PGA show. Send us some pics and your feelings about the club. Welcome to the forums. It's nice to find another 68 year old on the site!! “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Golfers are the biggest suckers on the planet next to fishermen. LOL We all buy equipment off and on all the time. Otherwise we'd still be playing what we had years ago. The promise of more distance, accuracy, putts made, better swings, etc, etc. never ends. We're all seeking nirvana. I'll be interested in your new driver. Let us all know. OceanSands
Well, I am going to return the High Heat. It is a nice driver, I hit it pretty well but not as good as my Grenade. I am much straighter and more consistent with the High Heat than say, an Aeroburner, but the Bombtech Grenade is better for me.
