Kor.A.Door
I really liked the the look and feel of the old discontinued model of scotty Cameron GoLo, I have possible found one on the bay for a good price, but it is the 43" belly model. I was wondering if cutting the shaft down to 38", and put a counterbalance putter grip on it, whAt would happen to the weight and feel of the putter, or would it work fine. hckymeyer
I've done that before and it's worked out fine. I would just make sure the loft and lie would be ok. You should be able to look up the specs of both models online and compare. Driver: SLDR w/ Fujikura Ventus Black 3w: '16 M2 hl w/ Diamana D+ 82 5w: Launcher HB w/ HZRDUS Yellow Hybrid: 22 deg. ZenGolfer
It will change the swing weight, obviously. You may want to see what the head weight of that putter is because often belly/long putters have heavier heads than traditional length putters do. Beyond that, the lie angle may be different A number of years ago, I bought a Mizuno Bettinardi putters that was a belly putter and was cut down to 35" and it worked just fine. Sure, it had a heavier feel to it but theres was nothing about it that made it difficult to use and some people like a putter with a heavier head. StrokerAce
Hey.. resurrecting this quickly. I'm on the hunt for a 34 inch putter but most are 35 inches. If I regrip it and cut it down from 35 to 34 is there any risk? I understand this is a big problem with irons/wedges, etc. but not sure what effect it might have on putters. THANKS! fozcycle
I just got a SC Kombi S that was 43" and had it cut to 33" The only issue for concern was the shaft wide enough at 33" to handle the Golf Pride SNSR grip? The Technician said no prob so it was cut to 33". I will be using it next week at Hilton Head....
