SPY VIP GolfSpy Dave Posted October 29, 2015 SPY VIP Share Posted October 29, 2015 How does all of this sound in a new rangefinder? 400 Yard Range 1/10 Yard Measurements Accurate +/- 1 Yard Advanced Target Lock Function Scanning Function 6X Magnification Tournament Legal 1 Year Warranty How about for $199.95 with free shipping? Overall, I am quite interested in that number as far as lasers go. Cracking the $200 mark is a tough thing to accomplish for a quality laser rangefinder. Check out this chart for comparison: Not too shabby when you stack the numbers against the big guys. Plus, it looks like you get to keep a hundo in your pocket. We had a Precision Pro laser in this summer's Most Wanted trial. It was quick to measure, speaking to the quality of the electronics, but the testers were not huge fans of the shape. The Nexus shape seems vastly improved. I am betting that the ergonomics are way better with this unit, perhaps promoting quicker target measurement. I don't know if it can hunt down the big cats in the laser category, but it should have a shot with the ones in the similar price range. What do you think? Kenny B
Let's see... accuracy is +/- 1 yard just like every other laser rangefinder, but the readout is to the nearest 0.1 yard? And people actually believe that the distance measured is exactly 157.4 yards!! Hey, that tenth of a yard could be the difference between a 7i and a 6i. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

PlaidJacket
Looks to me like a good one. I have a similar model I got off of the MG site for $149. Works very well. This laser technology isn't new or rocket science any more. Why pay hundreds more for pretty much the same technology. Kenny B
I have YET to see any laser show you the flag like in their advertisement at 157.4 yards. That's not 6X magnification! “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

MDGolfHacker
This might be the ticket for me to replace a Bushnell Elite 1500 that I've had for ages. Nothing wrong with it per say, just that the ocular piece fell off a few years ago. I'm thinking it's time to relegate it to Fl bag and check the Precision Pro Nexus. Mathwiz
Agree with Kenny B. The 1/10th of a yard accuracy is ridiculous. Even tour pros aren't that good. It is actually a distraction. I know. I have the same thing on my Leupold 3xi and I hate it. Wait what ? that 0.1 can make the difference between landing on the crest or just past it to roll it to the hole ? You can't do that ? J/K of course because I certainly can't, ha ha ha. I think it's a marketing ploy. Whats even better than +/- 1 yard than +/- 0.1 yards. I'm sure other manufacturers realized this so they just rounded to the nearest yard. BIG STU
Agree with Kenny B. The 1/10th of a yard accuracy is ridiculous. Even tour pros aren't that good. It is actually a distraction. I know. I have the same thing on my Leupold 3xi and I hate it. LOL we actually have fun with that 1/10th thing. I was one of the testers chosen to test it for Nexus and MGS and I love it. Pretty darn accurate and it holds it's own with my buddy's $500 Leuopold. LOL he can not stand that. For me I love the shape of it fits well in my hand and is not bulky at all. That alone makes me easier to point and shoot as I say. Heck of a lot quicker than my old outdated Bushnell Pro 1600. If I had not been fortunate and been chosen to test one and had had a chance to do an on course demo I would have bought it.
