Driver Rattle

Today at the range I heard something sliding up and down the inside of my driver shaft. Got home and cut the grip off and found this little guy. Not sure what the hell it is or if it's important. As always, any help is appreciated.

Driver -  :taylormade-small: M1 9.5* w/ Aldila Rogue Silver 70X

Fairway -   :taylormade-small: M1 5W 19* w/ Aldila Rogue Silver 70X

Hybrids -   :ping-small: G25 4H 23*

Irons -  :mizuno-small: JPX 850 Forged 4-PW w/ Nippon N.S. Pro 1150S

Wedges - :mizuno-small: S5 50*07, 54*12, 58*12 w/ Nippon N.S. Pro 1150S

Putter - Oddyssey Metal-X #7 w/ SuperStroke Pistol GT 2.0

It is an excessive piece of epoxy that has broken off from inside the shaft. Usually a sign too much epoxy was used in installation. I do not think it is any thing to worry about as far as the head being loose etc. It just happens sometimes. You are lucky it was a shaft piece and not a head rattle. Head rattles from the same cause can be a PITA.

It looks like the epoxy that gets set on the inside of the shaft on the club head end.

Driver:  :ping-small: G30 9*

 

Irons:  :callaway-small:  X-Forged 3-PW

 

Wedges:  :cleveland-small: RTX 2.0 52*

                :ping-small:  Glide 58*

Now with that extra weight gone, your club head speed is increased and you gained a few yards.  Now that you are closer to the green, you can drop down one club and hit more greens.  That will lead to more putts made and lower scores.  Aren't you glad you got rid of that rattle?   :)

Someone didn't use a plug at the end of the shaft for that shaft install. Way too much epoxy used. I had one the other day on a club I reshafted for someone that came out and was nearly 3 inches long

Got the shaft off the bay, so that would make sense. No harm, no foul. Still loving the shaft.
