Post your current handicap

Recommended Posts

I'm going to keep track of you bajo. You and me have the same handicap. I think we're about the same age too. I'll be 61 in Feb.  Let's see who can go lowest in 2016. I don't expect too much more from my game this year. Course conditions will become increasing more difficult here during the winter with dormant Bermuda Fws and hard greens. Might be kind of fun as a challenge.

I'm keeping an eye on Kenny too.

No much more going to happen here.  I struggle to keep the index I have; hard to go lower, the older you get!

My latest revision is a 6.0.  Too many aches and pains too little time to practice, play.  I'm playing today, next Tuesday and two of the days after Thanksgiving.  I also have time to practice on Friday morning this week.  Let's see if I can get my act together.

It's been a while.

Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60  Aldila  R flex   - 42.25 inches

India 52,56 (60 pending)  UST recoil 75's R flex

Rev you better get to work. You're going the wrong way. Ha. Me too. I'm kind of stuck. I'm going to have to find time to get out more during the day and practice a little bit. The evenings are shot.

Just posted a 74.  That should help me keep my index at 4.2.  Was in real danger after a whopper of a score earlier this year.  Interestingly, in golf, all the shots count, but in calculating your index, you get to throw some out!

I believe, like us, your last day to post a score this year was Nov 14 unless you are in AZ, or somewhere warmer than CO.

I hear you Plaid my game stinks right now.  I'm playing several times next week and then using December for lessons and practice - I may not play during Advent at all but will use the facilities often.  I'd like to fit three lessons in during that time - My problem is that I'm hitting my share of good shots it's just that instead of hitting good and marginal shots with a rare terrible one (like every other round) I'm hitting either good or terrible ones (and I mean terrible.)

On another note when I went to enter yesterday's round I noticed the our slope and course rating has changed which changed my last seven posted rounds and lowered my handicap slightly to a 5.7.  It seems that when the team came to rerate our course they determined that the changes to the greens have made the course more difficult (no doubt because they added some tiers and false fronts.)  Also they discovered that the course is actually longer than it was originally measured at - 120 yards longer in fact.  Bayou's course rating/slope from the tips is now 75.1/150 which means you are in major territory in terms of difficulty if you are playing from back there (of course they are keeping the greens at 10 not 12.5 and the fairways are wider than you would ever find at a major.)

I ended the season with an 11.2 revision, but really didn't get to play much the last few weeks this year.

I'll have to work hard over the winter to stay in shape, if I'm going to start next year anywhere close to that!

Well, GHIN opened back up here on March 1.  Today, the new GHIN numbers were posted, and the cold, windy, wet weather here in the Pacific Northwest desert was not kind to my index.  I went from 9.4 on November 15 to 10.2 today.  Hopefully, today's +3 for nine holes is an indication that I can turn that trend around before the end of the month.

I shot 76 two weeks ago, my index dropped from 7.1 to 6.5. In the latest ghin revision. My hcp states between 6-7 most of the year, I usually don't update it since the course hcp doesn't change until I go above 7 or below 6. If I keep scoring 76, it will drop A lot since I don't have anything that low in my last 20.

Mine didn't change with the 15th revision. But I've been trending upwards this year from a low of 6 last year. I've also moved up a tee as well. Once the course/fairways start looking better I'm confidante my ball striking will improve along with lower scores. XX

I'm holding steady at 13. Goal of single digits is in my reach.

With warmer temps and regular rounds again I'm hoping to be primed and ready for the city publink tournament in July.

Hi -

I do not - yet - have a handicap, but that may change this year as I feel I've improved enough to start consistently tracking my scores.

Late last season I did score a few rounds and was in the lo-to-high 90s on [public] courses that have Ratings ranging from 68.2 to 73.2 and with Slope Indexes between 113 to 128.

So that may come out to, say, mid-20s..?

Scoring goal this year would be consistently in the 80s (total, not 'net') - a par here and there, a bunch of bogeys and the arrrrgh occasional double or (dare I even say it?) triple...

We'll see!

I like to go into my "settings" above; for each revision and update my Handicap. On the first of April I came down from a 7.9 to a 7.1. Since moving up to the Men's regular tee back in November my Hcp. has risen. Also some mediocre play contributed to the rise as well.

I was 9.4 at the start of GHIN season, then March 15 it went up to 10.2 because of two weeks playing in 15-30 mph wind.  I managed to get it back to 9.2 when we had decent weather the past couple of weeks.

I think we had this discussion before, but why doesn't the Handicap in the profile XX.X format?? It seems like that is an easy adjustment.
