PlaidJacket 7,737
My bag will be pretty similar to what I have already. (see signature below) I've stated recently that I might ... might consider a new driver. I know I'll get a new putter because just yesterday I made an appointment in Liberty Hill, Texas at the Edel headquarters for a new putter fitting on December 23rd. So, for Christmas I'm gifting myself a new putter. What driver might I consider? I have no idea. I can say one thing. It would not be OTR like my SLDR. Even though I generally hit the SLDR quite well; I have it optimized as best can be. But it's still OTR and I feel I've gotten lucky with the performance and consistency for an OTR club. It will be hard to beat. Another change I may make is to reintroduce my Wishon 775HS 21* 3HB. I really would like to use this club in place of my 4i. I've had it since the spring but didn't play it was well as I expected. Could my fit be off slightly? Maybe. Could it just be me and my swing? Probably. I may take it out today and see how it plays. So there you have it. Mostly the same with a new putter and a slight possibility of a new driver. EDIT: as for ball? I'll probably continue my rotation of MG Tour C4, Chrome Soft, Snell, PV1. iLikeGolf 31
At the risk of annoying the wife, I think it may be time to invest in a new putter. Being on the forum for a short time has got me really wanting to try out a custom made putter but the price tag on those is a bit steep. Everything else will more than likely stay the same. revkev 25,157
Driver trials are under way - other than that possibly nothing but if I were to make a change it would be adding a 4 wood, a 56 SCOR and bending the 53 to 52 or finding a used 52. Most likely scenario is just a new Driver at some point - I'm investing a lot of dough on the course. Kenny B 32,383
I really don't see any reason to change, but that doesn't mean I won't! It's my right to change, and I will if I want to. But then again, why should I? Nothing seems to be that much better. Maybe I will need something with more glitter; maybe a different color will somehow make me swing better. I don't know... I can't make up my mind. I could see a new driver making its way into my bag, and if I ever get a chance to try out the Ben Hogan irons, they could replace the Pings. I don't see the SCORs leaving anytime soon. Here's what I got to start the year: Driver - SLDR 14* 4w - Sonartec LS-99 7w - Sonartec LS-99 5H - TaylorMade RBZ Irons - Ping i20 5-8 Wedges - SCOR 42, 46, 50, 54, 58 Putter - Boccieri Heavy Putter C2-DF Ball - Snell My Tour Ball and Snell Get Sum (depending on temperature) Bag- Sun Mountain MCB and Microcart I definitely need a new cart bag!! TheCommonHacker 34
This is the year that I will be getting a new "New" driver and a set of new "new" irons. Up until now I have just bought used drivers that are 2-3 years old. It's the same for my irons. I have had two sets and both are hand me downs. I am currently a free agent. I'm willing to get anything that feels nice and is consistent. However, the worst part of getting clubs for Christmas is that I have to wait 4 months to play. I am excited for the new set up, whatever it may be! McaseyM 1,725
Short game changes for me. After refinishing the old Spalding TPM 12 and regripping it, i was playing around with it last night on the carpet and I have to admit, it seemed to roll better and be more accurate that my current 2-ball backstryke. I have to give it a thorough run through at the putting green, but i might be going back to a blade putter from my current mallet. On the other hand, i am saving up for a putter fitting and new putter, so hopefully I can pull that trigger by next summer. Wedges? Maybe. I want to try a higher bounce wedge on some grass, but the only time I can usually get to the range and try things out is usually at night after the shop closes.
