EthanSterlingPrice 1,302
I think I know of the video you might be talking about, it kinda reminds me of the "mascot" of a course here in my area. At the Lake Whitney Country Club there used to be a dog named Copper, big old Golden Retriever, he had been there for as long as I'd been playing and pretty much had free roam of the course and neighboring area. He was notorious for always carying a big turtle in his mouth that he'd picked up from one of the water hazards or off the lake until he found another one that caught his fancy at which point he'd normally drop the first turtle and pick up the second one until he repeated the process. I always enjoyed seeing him out there but my grandfather had always told me that every once in a while he'd wait by one of the greens and as people would hit their approach on the green he'd dart on there and steal the balls and run off into the brush. I never believed it until one day I was out there with grandpa and lo and behold here comes Copper who proceeds to scoop up two balls into his massive mouth and dart off into the brush, now my grandfather wasn't having a great round and I'll never forget him yelling after that dog. Well eventually he died and they buried him just off the hole he used to steal off of and occasionally people would leave a golf ball there as a tribute I suppose (grandpa never did). The funniest part was a maintenance fella told me a while back that after they cleared some trees and brush out of an area near the course they found his "lair", apparently he had dug out a small hole to keep the balls in and they found it filled with golf balls and a few dried out turtle shells. I can't confirm the last part but I wouldn't doubt it. True story though I swear. NiftyNiblick 1,996
When I remove a head cover from one of my woods or metals, I immediately drape it over a long iron. I've done that since I was twelve, and the whole world was in black and white when I was twelve. It wasn't the cameras or film. Color itself hadn't been invented yet if I recall correctly. I believe that I was born in a gray scale. After the shot, I take the cover off my driving iron, assuming I'm bagging it--otherwise the longest iron in my bag--and put it back on the wood or metal. Unless, of course, I fluff the shot with that club. Then I leave the club naked to get bruised by life. At least until I need that long iron again.
