Got a Favorite Golf Hat?

Recommended Posts

I'd be willing to bet you have a favorite golf hat (or two) you wear almost every time you play. Let's see what you've got.

I've got heaps of hats, just don't wear them. Even when it starts to rain I'm loathe to put one on.

I usually buy a new hat or 2 at the beginning of the season and will wear it for a good amount of the summe/fall. By the end of the year it's got sweat stains on it so I'll just toss them in a pile

Been "balding" since age 18, so I got hundreds of hats, golf hats, baseball hats, some of them authentic New Eras, hats with football logos, hockey logo hats (4 red wings Stanley Cup hats one for each cup, never worn), basketball logo hats, beer hats, auto related hats, even a dreaded Siemens, the evil empire, hat. And many WMU hats but absolutely no Central Michigan hats or Sparty hats because inside every Chippie there is a Sparty trying to get out.

Unfortunately due to lack of hair and too much beer and Italian sausage my hats have to be washed or retired quickly. Hence the large accumulation over the years.

My favorite hats have nothing on them but "NOT DAVE" which I wrote on with a Sharpie because I have a twin brother whose name is Dave and when we play golf together nobody can tell us apart. You can't buy a "NOT DAVE", you have to earn it.

You can now go back to Zinger's post as will I.

I just found my new favorite. I got a hat for Christmas from the Statue Of Liberty when my daughter was there a couple of months ago. Wore it today and shot 76 + skins!

No pictures because I'm tried. Maybe later.

First round of the year and in two weeks.

Probably the one I'm wearing in my profile pic.  Big Phil fan, and a big fan of his "Phil's Blue Hat" promotion.  I also have a LOT in the rotation, incl multple visors.  #VisorLivesMatter

Can't do visors anymore -- the hair ain't as thick as it used to be...don't want to burn the scalp.

In this space was a post that I forgot making two and a half years ago and then made again, virtually verbatim, again tonight.

Incredible. Almost word for word.

Next steps to my road to improvement
      Current
Adding the Mizuno MMC FliHi 4 iron to the bag once it comes it to replace my hybrid. The hybrid has too significant of a draw bias, not terrible, but I also draw the ball naturally already, and will probably go in and out of the bag, but I'm looking for better shot shaping with the FliHi and have that 210 to 225 distance into the green and off of the tee. Working on my putting. I'm rolling the ball nicely now with a slightly open stance with my current putter. I have another putter that I can get the ball rolling online, but the pace is off. Future step is to actually get fit for a putter. Working on my natural tempo and swing speed for the driver to have more consistent drives. See below for more info. Next
Driver shaft optimization. Not looking for a new head yet. I like my 2017 M1 460. Interested in the journey of testing some shafts. Right now my shaft is determining what kind of shot I can do. Slower speed and tempo than my natural speed and tempo. This has lead to a great deal of inconsistency of trying to find the "magic speed and tempo" and I know that isn't the way to go. Swing speed training. I'll have multiple shafts at this point so I can game whatever is best fitting me as I go along. And I can always swing a little slower or club down to hit a fairway. Future
Get fitted for a putter > get fitted for a driver/shaft and woods from a high level, reputable company willing to discuss numbers and takes the time and right approach. Open to custom shafts and not just from the OEM cart like at a Golf Galaxy. I have only been fitted to a driver once, but didn't purchase as I did not like the experience, small selection of shafts, and I wasn't swinging my natural speed and tempo like I should have.
