Refinishing a versa

I bought a versa #7 that was beat up a little. I would like to remove the paint on it. How can I do this without damaging the insert?

I use Tal-Strip (available at most automotive stores) to remove paint.  If you want to be careful around the insert then use painters tape and cover it.  Then instead of spraying the head directly from the can, spray a bunch into a plastic container and use q-tips or a small paint brush to spread it onto the head.

Tap Strip will dissolve the insert. Make sure you tape the insert up if you're going to use it. I'd go buy HVAC metal duct tape to put on top of some masking tape to protect it further. It will also dissolve a plastic container. I'd use a metal or glass bowl if you're doing that. To be safer though, tape the insert up and coat it in citristrip. It'll take longer but it doesn't damage the inserts, would melt the paint off it though. That's why you'd tape it up.

What if I want the White off of the insert?  would this be possible?

Yeah but I don't remember what color the insert is under the surface color. I want to say they're like an off-white/yellowish color
