Brandt Snedeker making equipment change to start the season

Recommended Posts

Hot off the presses, Sneds is making a BIG change.  This change may not be that big to most, but for those that know he has been gaming the same Taylormade Burner for years, it's pretty huge.

Straight from Bridgestone.....

Brandt is putting into play the new 2016 TOUR B330 and JGR Driver at Kapalua.  Brandt is seeing higher launch and better distance from the new ball off the tee, and much better greenside spin on his approaches.  Interestingly, Brandt just started testing the final version of the new balls last week, but with the immediate performance improvements he's seen from the new core and cover finish, he's already putting them in play.  The JGR Driver is the 9.5 degree version, and it is a big deal to him to have found something that kicks his trusty TaylorMade Burner out of the bag after all these years. Sneds has praised the JGR as being Bridgestone's highest launching and fastest ball speed driver he's ever tested.

With tee times starting in a few short hours, we'll quickly be able to see how these changes affect his performance.

I think I'll leave him off my fantasy roster, until we see how this works out! ;)

(Now watch him win the tournament) - lol

Wonder if he'll switch back just for a comfort reason if he has a bad round driving the ball or will he battle through the growing pains.

After his last win and he was still using that Burner I was curious to why he wasn't using a Bridgestone. That was my favorite driver I tried last year.

Pretty cool, always interesting to see what makes someone switch clubs when you see a pro gaming something that old.

Should have picked him!!

I almost did change to him after I read this. But I remembered it was not his driving that has kept him off the leaderboard lately. Looks like he got the putter working again.

He looks pretty sharp right now but I don't think Spieth is gonna give him too much help if things continue the way they are. Sneds is a majorly underrated player in my opinion, there's just so many good players right now that can get hot or might be a tad more marketable for one reason or another that he kinda gets overlooked but watch out for him to have a good season if this gear switch works out!

Doesn't really matter what Bridgestone clubs he plays if Bridgestone doesn't bring them to the US market or at least make them available in golf stores.

      Hello,
Has anyone tested the Bridgestone Tour B RX or RXS balls? I haven't found a topic on them.
I recently found a Tour B RX ball and started chipping and putting with it. It was in perfect condition when I found it and after practicing with it, it was in much better condition than the Pro V1's that I also use for practice. I'm amazed with it's durability but I found the B RX to be a little hot off the face compared to the Pro V1 (softer vs firmer feel?). I played a round with it and compared it to my gamer (Srixon Q-star) and didn't see much difference but I also played like crap that day, so it's difficult to say.
What experience have you guys with it? Is it worth the buy?
      Thanks,
      JD

A special Limited Edition release by Bridgestone:
As the golf world gears up for the PGA Championship and Tiger tries to make it two-in-a-row at the Majors, Bridgestone is launching a LE special "Tiger Chasing Majors" commemorative package for its TOUR B XS balls this weekend.  We expect it to be widely available beginning on Monday, but some Southeast locations will have it on shelves as early as this weekend.  Same price as typical TOUR B XS ($44.99 per dozen) - just another opportunity for Tiger fans to grab a cool commemorative pack.

      (10) TESTERS WANTED

      5 Each e12 Soft and e12 Speed

      It's Forum Testing Season!!

We kicked it off last week with the Galway Rain Gear and we are moving right along with giving 10 testers the oppportunity to put the new Bridgestone e12 balls to the test.
As you may have read or heard previously the e12 is a new ball to Bridgestone, it takes the place at the family table previously held by the e6, meaning priced at $29.99 retail.  However, while it has the same price as the previous version of e6 there is a lot more that has gone into this ball.
“With the benefit of 12 years of ball-fitting data, we have amassed an incredible body of data that has allowed our R&D engineers to pinpoint specifically what causes players to lose distance and accuracy in golf ball construction,” said Elliot Mellow, Golf Ball Marketing Manager, Bridgestone Golf.  “Contrary to the traditional school of thought in golf ball design, where power comes solely from the core, our new Active Acceleration Mantle actually allows us to derive additional power from the mantle layer to boost distance. We’ve created the ‘holy grail’ of distance performance golf balls - a 3-piece surlyn construction that minimizes sidespin to provide ultimate forgiveness, while delivering velocity needed to ensure maximum distance.”

So that sounds exciting, who doesn't want to  discover the Holy Grail.   So never one to keep such wonderful things under wraps.  We are going to provide 10 of our valued forum members a chance to try these out for themselves and report back their findings.
These balls will be hitting retail shelves sometime in early to mid March so the chosen testers will be among the very first consumers to put them through the paces.  Your job as testers will be to test these from off the tee all the way though holing out that putt for birdie.....hey the season is young, we're full of optimism here!

We'll be selecting 5 of you to test the e12 Soft and 5 to test the e12 Speed.

Check back here next week, and we'll let you know who the lucky testers are.

      https://www.geoffshackelford.com/homepage/2019/1/30/koepka-on-pace-of-play-guys-are-already-so-slow-its-kind-of-embarrassing
Not only is Brooks right, but I think it's only a matter of time before someone finally gets DeChambeau to pick up the pace and knock off the intentionally gamesmanship that he displays against his playing partners, by intentionally waiting to start his conversation with his caddie about whatever it is they talk about, until after the other guys have finished hitting.  I mean, if you want to talk about air density and a thousand other things no one ever thinks about, fine, but all I think anyone is asking here is that you abide by the pace of play guidelines that the Tour has in place.  Eventually the Tour has to buckle to the pressure if enough outside influences keep this topic as alive and well as it has been for some time now.  I'm just surprised we have such a blatant horrible penalty on a non-issue with Haotong Li that gave him no advantage whatsoever, when pace of play actually does affect the other golfers on the course, not only in your group, but also behind you, as they wait on every shot because you are too busy crunching numbers on things no one besides you has a clue about or could care less about.
