Is that Shot Scope wrist-watch-thing-device real? It looks extremely big, terribly made and plain cheap.

It's real, and actually sounds like it could beat out Arccos as the "most wanted" shot tracker if all the claims hold up.

You just wear the wrist watch thingy and play.  No tagging and doesn't have to be in proximity to your phone.  Tracks everything just like Game golf and Arccos.  One feature I thought was cool was you can map the pin location.  Just stand over the hole and tap a button on the watch and it will tag where the hole was.  Should give good info then on both proximity to hole on approach or chip shots and also some really good putting statistics.

Price is $280 and they have a 20% off preorder promo going on right now.

The wrist device is just so ugly. Pre-production? Proto?

I'm assuming it's the final version since they took it to the show and it's all over their webpage.

I don't think you're supposed to wear it around town as a fashion accessory though :)

I really like the looks of the new Sentio putters, but the non-offset model isn't available yet.

Maybe they should enter the 2016 MGS Most Wanted.  One head weight (350g); I'm turned off.

I'm guessing the pictures don't do it justice Christian. It had a nice solid feel to it without being heavy. It appeared to be well made, but only a real test will tell. Black and red are their colors, for better or worse.

Did not know that Golf Pride was the #1 putter grip on tour based on their OEM business.

Liked this grip more than I expected to. It's remarkably comfortable and is soft while providing what I can only deceive as feedback. It doesn't want you to grip it too tight, even though it's pretty soft.

Here's a side by side look at the Hogan HI and Ft Worth 15. HI is a little bit bigger head and appears to have a slightly wider sole. Don't think these would make sense in a progressive set with the PTx - they were designed with the Ft Worth 15's in mind.

Thought this was interesting - this thing just links to your phone GPS and scorecard app. It shows yardage and allows you to input score and stats.

Supposedly it works with a bunch of different apps - they're introducing it in the spring. How much would you pay for something like this??

Okay - these confounded me. I'm pretty open minded and will try anything at least once, but these require a completely different approach to putting.

Called BioMech - it almost applied the chipping motion to putting. That's not totally accurate but its the best I can come up with. Really weird way to go, but i saw a bunch of people walking around with them, so they must have sold a bunch.

I'm intrigued by all the wrist wearable shot-trackers and GPS devices. But... they are all still way to thick/bulky. I'm a little surprised that they aren't much thinner by now. But they will be. One day. Until then I'm not a buyer.

Was at the Edel booth talking with David Edel amwhen he gets a text. He tells me stick around for a bit, Robbie Kreiger is stopping by. I says "The Doors lead guitar player Robbie Krieger?"

Yep, that Robbie Krieger. Robbies been a member at Riviera for years and golf's with David often.

Kenny, no love for the funky putter? I saw you weren't interested in the Sentio due to only having a 350g head. Just curious, what's your putter set up preference ( besides an awesome Corktree grip of course)?

BioMech putters remind me of my odyssey backstryke putter. I play a 2-ball but they also made one that looked like the triangle thingy

No funky putters.  I really haven't decided if I like Anser or mallet style best.  There are some features I like about both.  But it has to be face-balanced; it has to be 31-32 inches; it has to have a 400+ gram head and a 100g counterweight.  I don't see many putters that are that short with heads that heavy.  My current blade putter is 32 inches and has a 475 gram head and 200 gram counterweight.

When I get back from my 2 week golf trip to Florida in February, I will be posting my modification of the Nike Converge putter that I reviewed last year.  I am adding 50 grams to the head, which brings the head weight up to 410 grams, and 100 grams to the grip end of the shaft.

Wait a minute!  Did I just describe a funky putter?  ;)

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Shot Scope are not happy with the pictures from the show. And the comments, I guess. I'm always extremely critical. Must be more people like me out there. Scary.

Honestly didn't think the wrist band looked that bad. Smaller and a little sleeker than most GPS watched IMO. Maybe its just hard to get a good picture of it. I held it in my hand and slapped it on the wrist and in tents of size its not much different from the TomTom GPS watch.

Now that putter, not sure there's a camera angle possible that'll make that thing look good.

Devereux apparel was started a couple of years ago by 2 brothers. Its pretty nice stuff- kinda high end.

They just signed a 3-year deal with Danny Lee - this is what he'll be wearing at the Phoenix Open

Some stuff from Bushnell- the new V4, the new replacement for the V3. Standard is $299, with slope function its $399. The slope function can be disabled for tourney play. New USGA rules says as long as its disabled, you can use this type of rangefinder I'm competition.

2nd item is the Neo Ghost - its a GPS you can hang from your bag. Nice big display.

Last item is Bushnell's GPS watch. Kinda big to look at but the display is off the charts easy to read

Devereux apparel was started a couple of years ago by 2 brothers. Its pretty nice stuff- kinda high end.

They just signed a 3-year deal with Danny Lee - this is what he'll be wearing at the Phoenix Open

Quality brand that has mastered blending cotton and tech. Just got into Nordstroms as well.

Can't remember if this is Stich or Cru, but they're pretty badass. Saw lots of really nice leather headcovers, and a lot of nicely designed but not quite as nice leather head covers. Difference in feel is remarkable

I don't get too interested in the new golf couture because I look like an unmade bad regardless of what I'm wearing.  My attitude should be the same about the hardware, but it isn't.  I always get excited to look at new equipment whether I'm in the market or not.  The PGA Show, even from afar, is something special.

And realistically, I'm not in the market. I'll know in the spring if I'm physically able to play anymore.  If I am, I bought new irons and wedges this past year and a new driving iron the year before that. I'd love to try the PTx irons, but at $184 per, the year after new FW-15s---I think not.

Naturally, I'll pick woods out of my heavily stocked ancient metalwoods bag because ancient metalwoods, as we've all come to realize, are how I roll.  Every old man needs a quirky idiosyncrasy and that's apparently mine.

As for putters, I've got a bag full of them as well.  That's probably less unusual.  Almost everybody has a bag full of putters.  Even non players, probably.  I'm trying to think of a basement where I haven't seen one.  I'm not opposed to looking at new putters, but I'll start the year, God willing, with an older one.

So it will (hopefully) be nine newish sticks, at least four older ones, and what the hell difference does the putter make with my putting stroke?  There's no intelligent reason for me to get excited about the PGA show.  But I always do...still.
