I hate to say it but who cares? Thats a serious question too. I'd say the same thing about Nike BTW, neither of these companies are on my radar screen when I look at equipment.

Not that there's anything wrong with them or their products. I just always end up with someone else's in my bag before I get around to trying theirs. The one exception was the Niike One Tour D because it was a good ball at a favorable price point.

The problem for both companies is that I'm old enough that TMag and Callaway still seem like newcomers. I'm sure that neither Cleveland nor Nike care much about my group anyway. They are after the younger crowd. I wish them well. I'm happy that Wilson is back and will stick with them, Ping, Titleist, Callaway and TMag for now. Mizzie would be my next fall back.

I'm really serious in asking who cares. I wouldn't be looking down at or making fun of someone who does. I'm just curious if there is anyone.

Not that it really matters to me who the CEO is but they make great equipment. The Srixon XV is a great ball and the new Srixon Irons are as good as anything out. Cleveland wedges we all know. Hopefully he will continue them along the same path.

I would like to see how they will improve the custom wedges section.

Srixon irons are a work of art and would like to see them closer to me.

Most of the time I don't really care who is in charge of what company, but am always interested in seeing what new or different directions they head in.

I agree. All the other big companies are offering multiple grinds in there wedges. Cleveland is one of the best wedges out and the need to fall in line. Just offering different bounces isn't going to but it anymore.

FYI, I see where you can buy a dozen ZStar balls and Z Star XV for $19.99 on Amazon Prime and Srixon site is BOGO for $39.99.  Not bad for anyone interested in stocking up on a good ball.

      (4) TESTERS ANNOUNCED

Cleveland Launcher CBX & HB Irons

Heads up gang - time for another MyGolfSpy Community Forum Review opportunity!
You guys may remember our trip to Cleveland Golf HQ in Huntington Beach, CA last December. The folks at Cleveland/Srixon/XXIO showed our forum members a wonderful time and outfitted them with a full bag of brand new Cleveland gear..including either the new Launcher CBX or Launcher HB irons, whichever was the best fit.

It was so much fun, and the guys loved the clubs so much, that we wanted to give you an opportunity to try them out for yourself.

      TESTERS WANTED:

We're looking for 4 avid MGS'ers to do the MGS thing and give a thorough, professional and honest review of the new Cleveland irons. We need two of you to review the Launcher CBX irons, and two more to review the ultra-forgiving Launcher HB irons.

And after you review them, you get to keep them - how about that!

As you know, we take our Forum Testing VERY seriously at MGS. This is NOT A GIVEAWAY, but a unique opportunity for you to become a real golf gear reviewer. It's a full 2 month commitment, and you'll be expected to give the irons a thorough testing both on the course and on the practice range, and you'll be given a detailed review template upon which to base your review (we do try to make it as easy as possible!).

You'll also be asked to visit the review thread often answer questions and share your journey with your fellow forum members (and ask anyone who done an MGS review before, they'll tell you - it's a hoot!)

      HOW TO APPLY:

This opportunity is open to anybody residing in the US or Canada. Think you have what it takes to be an MGS reviewer? Here's what you have to do:

      In this thread, tell us:

      1. Your first name and home state or province
      2. Your current irons/shafts (flex and brand)
      3. Your current handicap
      4. Your preferred irons to test (visit the Cleveland Golf Website to check out the details)

We'll be announcing the testers next week, so make sure to check back here to see if you've been chosen.

      Good luck!

Well another great turnout and batch of testing applications, this one was truly not easy, lots of great candidates but in the end, these four gentleman have shown a true commitment to MGS and been active in the community.  Two of them are proven past reviewers who we know will do a great job, and TWO FIRST TIME reviewers, who we have been great contributors in their time on MGS.   S

      Please welcome me in congratulating:

      CBX Testers:

      (3) TESTERS Announced

      Cleveland Launcher HB Driver
With Your Choice of Premium Shaft

Do like your drivers long and beastly or straight and narrow? Do you like to fiddle with features or do you prefer grip it and rip it simple?

There are no wrong answers here, it's just a matter of what you value.

And if you value a driver with a yard-to-dollar ratio close to 1, you might just find value in the Cleveland Launcher HB.

      TESTERS WANTED:

There's a lot of 2008 in the new Cleveland Launcher HB - there's the name, of course, and the updated HiBore crown. There's no adjustable hosel, and a $299 price tag that will make you feel young again.

The Launcher HB was a solid performer in this year's Most Wanted Testing, finishing in the top half of the pack, only 3 yards behind the PING G400 LST but with a 25% lower sticker price. That's how the off-the-rack model performer for us, but we'd like to see how a customized model works for you.

We want THREE avid golfers to test, review and keep the Cleveland Launcher HB equipped with YOUR CHOICE of any premium shaft in the Cleveland catalog (click here to see the lineup).

      Yes, ANY SHAFT.

      How To Apply:

All applications must be made in this thread, so please follow the instructions carefully.

      Please tell us the following:

Your first name and your home state/province
      Your current driver/shaft combination
      Your driver swing speed/carry distance
      Your current handicap

Congratulations to the following testers.   Details coming via PM from me shortly.

      From the InBox today....

Srixon Announces Newly Redesigned Q-STAR Golf Ball for Better Balanced Performance

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — July 17, 2017 — SRIXON® announces launch of the newly redesigned Q-STAR® golf ball for golfers who demand balanced performance from a more durable, two-piece ball offering. The Srixon Q-STAR is available in Pure White™ and Tour Yellow™ and officially launches in North America on August 18, 2017.

Srixon is a tour-proven golf manufacturer with premium golf balls and club offerings popular with golfers around the world. The Q-STAR golf ball utilizes the same premium technologies found in Srixon's higher-priced tour balls but offers them in a 2-piece construction that is more durable and affordable.

The new Q-STAR features a lower-compression Energetic Gradient GrowthTM Core, a new third generation Spin Skinâ„¢ coating, and a new, more efficient 338 Aerodynamic Speed Dimpleâ„¢ Pattern. These three technologies combine to deliver balanced performance: longer, more accurate driving distance, better iron control, and improved greenside spin.

“The Q-STAR's built-in tour technologies should help golfers see great performance in every aspect of their golf game,” said Michael Ross, Senior Product Manager at Srixon. “This is the golf ball for players who seek maximum playability from a more durable, 2-piece design.”

The key technologies inside the new Q-STAR include:
      ·      Lower-Compression Energetic Gradient Growth Core. Q-STAR's core technology uses variable stiffness to deliver better feel and exceptional distance on every shot.
      ·      Third Generation Spin Skin Coating. This latest iteration of Srixon's proven ball coating is more elastic with less bonding points so it produces more consistent spin from any lie — especially the rough.
      ·      Aerodynamic 338 Speed Dimple Pattern. Along with more control in the wind, this dimple pattern reduces drag to maximize distance.

The Srixon Q-STAR golf ball officially launches in North America on August 18, 2017, at a MAP of $24.99 per dozen.
