Hi! Believe I am in the "target market" for these ... this will be my 6th year playing golf but am making good progress quickly... Irons and wedges / approach shots is my fav part of the game!

 

I'm almost definitely going to upgrade the iron set I've been playing the past 5 years, and am looking in this "crossover" category ... including the new Wilson C-200, Callaway XR/XR-OS and TM M2s.

 

I did (briefly) test the JPX-850 indoors at a store and _loved_ it!!! (when I hit it flush) but still need a bit more, ummm, "help" i.e. forgiveness on less than perfect strikes.

 

So...

1. Chuck and I live Huntington, NY (which is on Long Island)

2. Don't have an official handicap but estimate low 20s. I hit some pars, and a bunch of bogeys plus an occasional extra chip or putt for a double.

* But: this is def trending lower as I continue to play and continue to gain better control over the ball! (and hit my targets more frequently!)

3. Currently have Taylormade R9s (5-PW, AW) with graphite shafts.

4. These were not custom fit; got the stock setup from a friend who used to be a TM staff pro.

* But (another 'but'): pretty sure I could benefit from a custom fitting as have been considering going to steel shafts in the irons. I like the way the graphite dampens the vibration of the ball strike but as mentioned my iron play is really improving and am looking for more control of the ball.

My last 2 set of irons have been Mizuno both with Nippon shafts and I love the feel of them I have demo the new Iron with my shaft and absolutey love it I picked up almost 12 yds with the 6 iron demo. And my last 2 sets were custom fit.anybody that doesn't get fit have no idea what they're missing out on
