null
Well, I still love my SCOR wedges......Last Saturday, I Holed out an Eagle from 78 yeards with my 53* SCOR! I had just finished the front nine and hit a terrific drive on #10, cutting the corner of a dogleg left par 4. I had not hit the 53* all day, but, knowing my distances, i pulled it out and took two practice swings. Then, I made the shot and watched the ball hit the green in front of the pin and bounce right into the cup. Woo Hoo! I love my SCOR wedges. Have you tried them? The new Hogan's are just like them. They have a V-sole rather than various bounces. No I haven't tried the scor wedges. Heard good things. Perhaps we can discuss the scor wedges in a thread for scor wedges? null
I play the SM5's. Is there a huge difference between the 5's and 6's?New grooves. Center of gravity changes in both the gap wedges and lob wedges. Weight moved from hosel towards the toe (but still slightly towards the hosel side of center. The only wedges with a COG closer to the true center is the new Cleveland wedges coming out (a few millimeters)).
null
So after playing from nasty bunkers with rocks in them (next time I'm just moving my ball) I notice some gashes on the back of the club from hitting rocks when hitting open faced shots, especially on the 60. Figured the best way to hide the marks was stamping. Unfortunately normal stamping wouldn't have covered the blemishes so I some stamping it make it almost look freehand. The pics don't show it as well but it looks pretty cool in person
null
Played today and these wedges continue to impress me. I hit some great shots out of the greenside rough with both my 54F and 60M (3 hit flag sticks, all tap ins), and hit some really great 60-90 yard shots with the 54F. Only had one bunker shot and it was a rather long bunker shot where I underestimated just how heavy and deep the sand was (had about a half inch of rain overnight). I was indecisive as to what club to use from that distance and ended up leaving the shot a good bit short. The wedges have really performed from the Rough and the fairway, but I need to spend some time with both clubs in the sand to help set up a strategy going forward as to when I use which club. Hula Rock
I play the SM5's. Is there a huge difference between the 5's and 6's? I game SM5's, friend has SM6's, I hit a couple full shots with the 56 (110-115 yards) To be honest, kinda felt the same... Might be the CP2 grips we both have installed on the clubs. Golfspy_CG2
Just pulled the trigger on a 50 F off ebay. Damn you Rob! LOL...Well since the trigger is already pulled, i won't feel bad about saying how awesome that club was last night. I stuck one from 75 yards to 2 feet, chipped out of some Narly green side rough to about 6 inches, and caught one so clean from about 20 yards off the green to a back pin (total of about 40 yards) that it literally hit once and spun to a stop about 20 feet short of the pin, I was counting on some release, but the thing bit like a hungry dog. Golfspy_CG2
Awesome. I went with the 50.12 Love me some bounce. Nice...I do to as well, but I've also gotten pretty adept at using low bounce on touch shots and short pitches. If i had it to do over again, I might have gone with the 12 in either the 50 or 54, just to have a higher bounce option in something other than my lob wedge. But so far I haven't had any issues with any of them. #bestwedgesever G430 Max 10K TSiR1 15.0 Aldlia Ascent 60g TSR2 18.0 PX Aldila Ascent 6og TSi1 20 Aldila Ascent Shafts R T350 5-GW SteelFiber I80 SM10 48F/54M and58K S159 48S/52S/56W/60B Select 5.5 Flowback 35" ProV1 Play number
null
Being that my PW is 44* and my old set GW was 50*, I think I am going to have my SM6 50.12 bent to 49.11.
null
Was throwing absolute darks with the 54 today at the range. At about 85 yards there is circle net about 4 feet wide that you can hit into and I drilled 3 of 5 in and the other two barely missed. Really easy to flight them down and hit a yardage
null
Another great outing for the vokeys. Really enjoyed using the 50 for lower chip shots. After the round I went to get the 50 bent to 49 for gapping purposes and it turns out that it was playing at 51 degrees! (that would explain why I came up a few yards short on my full shot on 15 with it 😉) Had it bent to 49 and all is right in the world!
Golfspy_CG2
Good stuff Jukes. Interesting on the loft being off. Perhaps that could be the case for mine being a bit shorter than I usually get from those lofts. Certainly can't be me. Ha Think I'll get them checked this week.
