superduper
I tried using drywall fiberglass tape for shaft shims. well it worked but it's kinda hard to stick the tape to the tip of the shaft. I used two cuts of tapes to put a .335 shaft into a .350 driver. It's kinda hard to stick the second tape to the first tape. Does anyone have any tip how to do this properly? jaskanski
Shafting beads can help to take up some of the "slack" if the hosel is a tad loose. I would always err on the side of proper shims in the first instance, although I have tried the scrim tape (and it works ok) in the past. For a nice snug fit, the beads mixed into the epoxy will provide the last few microns of spacing required to get a nice flush fit.

jaskanski
how many layers required to shim a .335 shaft into a .350 hosel? tape usually equates to 0.010" - combined with shafting beads + epoxy at 0.0021", it more or less fits the gap.
That Bob Guy
how many layers required to shim a .335 shaft into a .350 hosel? Unless it is an emergency job, why not buy a proper shim/ferrule adapter from Golfworks?
RookieBlue7
Unless it is an emergency job, why not buy a proper shim/ferrule adapter from Golfworks? People have been using drywall tape for years, from garage tinkerers to well respected builders. They're perfectly fine. I've cut my own rom aluminum cans before too. Works fine. RookieBlue7
or spend the $4 for 5 shims and save some time I can use drywall tape faster than prepping the precut shims (after cutting half the flaps off of them).
